The plan is to leave 5AM on 8/25 to avoid city traffic, tear ass through NJ (in disguise) have dinner and stay the night with a friend in Chicago, then Nebraska, SLC and on to Reno on 8/28.

Last year I was antsy, didn't sleep well, and was on the road by 4AM.

We'll leave the 25th or 26th, depending on how late I get off work and then 3 days of driving so we can make the playa on Monday.

8/28 to overnight at Pyramid Lake... then on to the playa Monday early. Guess I'll chance the long line, in hopes of getting some still coolish morning time for set up.

We noticed on our way back from Juplaya this year that most beaches on the east side have been closed to overnight camping. Assuming you want to camp off the 447 side.

On that note, the water levels are the highest they've been in years, the beaches are much smaller.

I've never been, but I do have my permit already. I'll camp wherever. Is it your impression that there is no camping available at all? that would be good information to have.

I leave the house the morning of the 14th and arrive on the Playa a couple hours later.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
