Hi! My name is Mouse and this will be my second burn. Me and my boyfriend need a ride to and from burning man. We live in the LA area. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where I could possibly find some ride share information? We want to make our second burn sooo bad and the only thing holding us back is a ride.
Peace, Love, and everything shiny,
Mouse

Hi Mouse! Good luck with the rideshare board.
The Green Tortoise San Francisco (google-able) has a bus trip out to the playa too (includes food, water, shade & transport; you bring the tent and other supplies) but it's only a 5 day trip.

Hey Mouse, welcome to ePLaya!
You're gonna need to entice people to give you a ride. And let them know how much stuff you have and will need to buy along the way.
Let folks know that you are willing to pay half for the gas.

It's also nice to tell people you don't expect to camp with them. Long-time Burners know rideshares aren't necessarily campmates, but first-timers with space in their vehicles might wonder if you expect to camp with them, so you can take the pressure off of them by being specific. Then, they don't have to worry about that awkward conversation.

Based on past experience, a Honda Accord-type car can tightly fit 2 people with minimal supplies . . . average tents, 2 camp chairs, food, water, some clothes (this is what a friend and I travelled in in 01--because someone else was bringing the shade structure). If it's 3 people and water for three, plus camping gear for all, you would probably need an SUV, van or VW bus (or long station wagon) unless 1 or more people inside have their water and maybe their shade waiting inside the event.
