Highest Price Found

Post by mdmf007 » Mon Jul 25, 2011 6:57 pm

Hey there -

Its time again, find the shittiest deal for a burningman ticket. This year will certainly be different. With Gate sales and the last tier price being available right up until the gates open or close that would limit the price a scalper could get - not so this year.

I found 798.00 on TicketExpress.com for General admission tickets to BM.

Some guy who has a gift/staff ticket was selling it on Craigslist LA for $1000. I was going to post the link, but it has been flagged for removal.

Folks on Denver Craigslist are trying to buy for 400-450. They are bidding on tickets that aren't even posted for sale.

I think I saw that. Up to 8 adult admissions for the same price of a child admission.

There's an asshat on StubHub with 16 tickets priced at $1498 apiece. Sadly, he/she will likely sell them.

For kicks, you could post info and links about places that have tickets in the 2011 tickets board. There seem to be an awful lot of people in there right now who could use every bit of help they can get.

I was referring to maryanimal's post, she mentioned a reasonably priced set of tickets and asked if she should post it here. I say give the ticket hunters help and info if you can. I strongly suspect that most of them are ever going to put off getting their playa tickets to the last minute again.

They started at $540, and someone thought they were scalpers and drove up the price. I bet they're just burners who needed to unload their tickets and got caught up in the frenzy.

Same dickweeds are doing this to other auctions too. I'm warning the sellers to use Buy It Now if they relist.

this is actually a great way to fuck scalpers up.

open up a couple of fake e-bay accounts, run the price up to a point where it's not realistic at all (10K and upwards).
win the bid.
disappear.

the seller is left with nothing at all. you get to laugh at him, next time he tries posting those tix on e-bay do the same to him.
Shit, where was i for the last week... ehm...

Because E-Bay itself isn't the right place to sell your ticket. it aims at pumping the price up.

you want to sell it? put it on craigslist or facebook or here. at the face value. and sell to the first person you find reliable enough.
