Ride share for some Irish folk?

Post by moloney » Tue Jul 26, 2011 12:15 pm

Hi there!

My friends and I are looking for a ride share to & from BM if possible. We'll be flying into Reno on August 27th, and would be looking to leave on the Sept 4th or 5th.

If anyone would be able to pick up 2 or 3 of us we should be so grateful!

Slåinte!

Hi Cian! You need:
http://rideshare.burningman.com

If it doesn't pan out, there is a rideshare desk usually on the 1st floor of the Reno airport near the baggage claim, but (I believe) this is volunteer staffed, and is subject (of course) to the generosity of people arriving who have space. Have a bit of cash to offer for gas money.

Have you read the Survival Guide on the main site? Survival comes highly recommended. :)

I sure have =)

This is my second burn, but bringing a bunch of first timers! There's not a lot of offers at the moment on that link, but hopefully something will come up soon, can't wait!

Hey Cian, Welcome to ePlaya!

Why don't you tell us a little about your self, besides the fact that you're Irish and need a ride.
Sell your self a little!

Sell myself!! Woah the pressure :p

I'm 23 and a dude, and the rest of my gang going are all early 20's also.

Came across bm on my travels in the states, I'm aiming to make it every year unless I'm elsewhere in the world (couldn't go last year because I was backpacking around Europe).

This will be my second time having gone in 2009. The last time we brought like a 35 year old camper that was continuously breaking down but we made it there in the end. While it was broken down we managed to make some use out of it and paint it anyways (pic here Made some amazing friends and had an even better time and now am addicted. A bunch of friends want to come with because those who have been already continuously harp on about it.

What about yourself (yourselves)??

That camper is hilarious! Although I'm not really sure if it's clear where the occupants are headed.

I'm from the Pacific Northwest, am not Irish, and this will be my 7th Burn. :)

Wow, someone asking about us in the intro!
Wasn't prepared for that!

Your camper looks awesome! In-fact at some point we saw you! I don't know if it was during Entrance or on the road, but your camper does look familiar!

I am a 23 year old dude too! I look pretty Irish, but I personally I am. I've got sorta dirty Blond Red hair, and a fair share of freckles. I border on Ginger Kid.
This will be my third Burn, and 2009 was also my first year!

I've never heard of Sir Digsby Chicken Ceaser before but thats awesome, it's the same two guys from Peep Show, ever heard of it?

Sweet!
As long as we don't steal stuff, and you don't puke on me (sec 1:17). But I'm more than down to mug around the playa drunk, smoking cigarettes, and "trying to figure out what the bloody hell is going on"
....
As long as you sing the theme song "don dun dun da daa"!

I promise not to moop on the playa!

Singing the theme song in a drunken, daft voice is part of the fun. I know a nice married couple who like to push their baby in the pram on the way to the grocery store with the theme music playing issuing forth from the iPhone.

I haven't, but I'll have to look it up now, thanks! . . . Sir Digby Chicken Caesar & Ginger are reoccurring characters on That Mitchell and Webb Look, which makes me laugh 'til it hurts.

I've never seen Peep Show or That Mitchell and Webb Look
But I am a big fan of The Mighty Boosh

We'll get you a bucket for the *moop*

From now on when some one gets too drunk and pukes, I'm going to call it Mooping.
Or maybe Unintentional Oral Moop

That kid must have an awesome life... some theme tune eh? If I was to have a theme tune it would be Takin' a Ride by Don Felder :D

Unintentional Oral Moop, I like it! Sounds strangely sexual for puking :/
