You know.. I gotta say it..

I like the direction that dubstep is going. As commercialized as Skrillex is, I dig his music.. a lot. I feel like that brand of dubstep is pushing aside the wompy wompy shit and giving it a new sound as evidenced in this commercial.

..and I HATE/D dubstep.. but more that wompy Bassnectar crap a la 2010.

This.. the newer stuff.. it ain't half bad, ya know..

Yeah, that's kind of happened with me... I thought I hated dubstep, but decided to grab some just to see what the larger field was all about. I found I actually enjoyed quite a bit of it even if I wasn't so pleased with much of what I heard at BM.

Yeah, that's kind of happened with me... I thought I hated dubstep, but decided to grab some just to see what the larger field was all about. I found I actually enjoyed quite a bit of it even if I wasn't so pleased with much of what I heard at BM.

It really depends on the style though. It seems like it's kind of split camps between the more electro style a la Skrillex, and the more wompy wompy shit a la.. hell.. I dunno because I don't listen to it.

My brother was just in Seattle at Decibel Festival and he is happy to report that most shitty Dubstep is very passe now. There will always be people that want to hear armageddon death chamber sounds but the trend of it is easing up. He says there is one thing that never dies and that is Techno and House. Nice

Missed dBFest this year, but the Impression I got from the Audio I listend to from it says one thing Dubstep has made a long lasting mark on our Sounds here in Seattle, Just like the Grunge upwelling occuring from Seattle hatting on Butrock so long and and hard that new "garage sounds" emerged, I figure We will see alot of New/re-hash from our town. But not as fast, the post prozac sound scape of Seattle became a bit, imported.
Then agian what do I know? but am still diging on this Skrillex shit!
