According to The Shroom, "Black Rock City's Least Best Newspaper", Harvey was quoted today that 2011 will be the last year for Burning Man. Scalping tickets was cited as one of the reasons. The event was created not for others to profit from, but for everyone to come together and celebrate and participate in a one of a kind event. Capitalism has finally caught up with our beloved event and has now destroyed it. Scalpers suck!!! Period!

As far as the ticket hysteria goes, it's all a bunch of crap as far as I'm concerned. Pretty much made up of procrastinators and capitalists. Too bad there isn't a secret place where true burners could go and buy from other true burners for face value. All these "desperate" people that absolutely need to be there and will do anything for a ticket makes me want to vomit. I got a pair in time for Xmas.

The point many people miss: You don't need an overpriced event, to entertain you!...or maybe you do!? Does it give you financial satisfaction? We do the same thing, on the same playa, for free. Minus the big firey things. In a lot of ways, its better. If Burning Man ends after 2011..so what? If you've been, hopefully you still remember the feeling. If you haven't, you can still get that feeling at the off season events.


It doesn't matter if you've been going since 1991 or have never been....that Deserts been the same for millions of years.

It is sooo very sad. First let me say I love you all and if I did something that fucked you up or bothered you or anything at all, I am truly sorry and you can bet it won't happen again. that said I will miss you all from the bottom of my heart.
