I love The Shroom site, but I'm baffled at some of the comments on that article - how could someone visiting that blog not realize?
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Nothing on that site is true. I've heard it referred to as The Onion for Burning Man.

According to The Shroom, "Black Rock City's Least Best Newspaper", Harvey was quoted today that 2011 will be the last year for Burning Man. Scalping tickets was cited as one of the reasons. The event was created not for others to profit from, but for everyone to come together and celebrate and participate in a one of a kind event. Capitalism has finally caught up with our beloved event and has now destroyed it. Scalpers suck!!! Period!

You should also point out the correction they released:
CORRECTION: an earlier story entitled "Harvey announces 2011 is final Burning Man" omitted to mention that Larry Harvey is a shape-shifting vampire. The Shroom regrets the error, and has made a donation to the NAASSV's scholarship fund.

The rumors of 2011 being the last year are a farce. You couldnt end it anyways. The second BMORG doesnt do a burn on the playa 50 other companies would scramble to get a BLM permit and have "Desert Concert" "Playa Fest 2012" or other. Charge less, offer more and make a shit ton of money.
