Does your camp need a helper?

Post by brc-fun » Wed Jul 27, 2011 11:57 am

Hello All,

I was bringing an installation, that I am not able to finish.
One of my crew is a single mother, and Burningman is her 2 week vacation.
She's been going to the burn since 2002, and has worked on many theme camps, mutant vehicles, and art installations.
She is free the week before the gates open (and enjoys that week more than the event itself).

I'm posting this, because I've been hearing that there are camps with folks who don't have tickets (and are now short-handed).
I'm also feeling guilty, because I've sort-of let her down (even though she would never say that).
If you need a helper, she has a ticket and can do about anything.

Hoping they are allowed to sell more tickets, <<< Not for myself; for all the folks who had planned to help set-up the city, but got caught off gaurd.

Not bloody likely. The tank, she is empty, and there ain't no more gas to be had. The ticket well has run dry. If you wish for a ticket in your right hand, and shit in your left, you will be left with one hand holding something. Monty Python's Parrot has a better chance of coming to life first. They'll sell more 2011 tickets just as soon as they get rid of all that dust on the playa. Toss your ticket coin... right into that welded manhole. Someone up the line has the "last person" card. Or to quote uncle Sonny... Fergeddaboudit.

Any questions? Read the sig line.

Hey Grady. Early entry is being very closely tracked this year, and I've just seen in another thread that--as of this week, camps are being asked not to sell, trade or give away their passes to non-members, or else risk being denied them in the future.

I see she has her ticket. Does your friend also need a ride, without you? If so, the rideshare board is on 2011 now.

You might be able to hunt down a ticket on CL or in the 2011 Tickets forum, but don't post a seeking thread--it wastes time. Sellers rarely check these threads. The people who get tickets seem to be the aggressors and quick on the draw. A few more people decide not to go each day between now and the Burn, so you might get lucky.

Hello again folks,

Both I and my friend have tickets. We also both have early entry passes, but we're not going to use them, because we're not able to finish the installation on time.

We also both have rides, food, water, and everything else we need.

The offer is for my friend to help someone with their installation or theme camp.

She has an old computer with slow internet; that's why I'm writing instead of her.

Thanx again,

Grady
