you want to sell it? put it on craigslist or facebook or here. at the face value. and sell to the first person you find reliable enough.
But you can sell on ebay with Buy It Now and not have it be an auction!

I dunno... if you sell it for face on ebay, it's probably just gonna get re-sold for way more $$. I think you have to talk to the person you're selling it to, make sure they're really going.

Anyone that cared that much would sell here to a real burner, at least what they hope is a real burner but once you sell it it's not yours to worry about anymore. What if can drive you mad

And now people are asking to buy EA passes. I know those get yanked off ebay ASAP.

But if anyone knows a ranger not using their plus one, send them my way.

Have any high dollar sales been confirmed?

I easily found scalpers selling tickets for $400.

Doesn't everyone understand what is going on?

That explains simultaneous $400 tickets and fantasy prices?

Didn't anyone take american history or economics?

Or just watch an ebay niche for a time?

There is a supply and demand, but this is about 'supply and demand, see manipulation of'.

There was a banner at the gun show warning everyone to quick buy your high capacity magazines before obama bans them all.
There has been a variant of this same panic warning for many years now, for ammo, etc.
Yet when I want "high capacity" magazines I just order them from italy with a warranty.

Auction fraud and panic techniques haven't changed any in centuries.
Only the reasons to panic.
There are books about this sort of thing.

Who can guess why a scalper would fake a high dollar ticket sale?

Yep, you can have them for FREE. Although, if you brought me a bottle

This is not a "looking for tickets" thread!

Please respond to threads in which people are SELLING tickets, otherwise you will NEVER get one!

Someone I know emailed me and said they found a BM ticket for $850. I told her to come onto this site and see what she could find. At least here (I would hope it is still this way) that people would sell them for what they bought them for.

Is it really sold out?

Post by gyre » Thu Jul 28, 2011 10:16 pm

I want to point out that those bidding up these auctions with fake bids are doing the big re-sellers a favor.

If any profit is realized, don't delude yourself that they won't try to buy out burningman next year, just as they do many concerts.

How many tickets sit on the scalpers shelves?
What is the real demand this year?

The publicity may have already shifted reality enough for many to attend that wouldn't have bothered otherwise.
Will the scalpers dump their remaining tickets, or write them off and hope to make it up on next year's panic?
Will the trendy get enough dust to send them back to the mall, and kill the attendance spike?

We won't know what is really happening until people show up and there is a ticket count.

LOL, thats some funny shit!
I like how he says he bout the ticket in December
Hey, check out my feedback, it's a real ticket, I got it in December, no way i would cheat you related to this sacred event! I for sure planned to go, but hey, what's it take to separate me from my friends and camp, I've been going for a lot of years? OK, so some think it's uncool to scalp a Burningman ticket, but "we" have a price and I figured out what you can buy my personal standards
I really dig the social commentary the guys is making. And it is sooo subtle!

There was a holiday pre-sale, so getting the ticket in Dec is possible.

$3k for 2 on craigslist. I've seen more expensive ones on Ebay, but this is the most I've seen on Craigslist
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/for/2519723401.html
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

According to the FAQ in the latest Jack Rabbit Speaks (which I and others have posted elsewhere on eplaya) BMORG had some system in place to prevent scalpers from buying up large blocks of tickets and aren't too worried about it.

Doesn't matter.

This has been done before and they have hired individuals when necessary.
It only affects casual buyers unless they have something new.

It is similar to the anti-piracy obsession hollywood pretends to have, though that is simply fake.
Their real goal is direct control of every single personal use with dvrs.
DVD recorders are now being restricted in this country, but in use everywhere else.
None of the "anti-piracy" approaches has any effect whatsoever on commercial piracy and they know it.

The llc will have to take more dramatic measures.

There is a long history of this business, even dockos.
The consumer lost, so far.
