Foodie looking for theme camp?

Post by jaytro4 » Tue Jul 26, 2011 4:41 am

Hi guys,
I'm a virgin and I love to cook, and was hoping there might be a theme camp built up around cooking delicious food? looking through last year's theme camp list, I haven't seen much (just a lot about fine homebrews and alcohol), but does anyone know of a theme camp that already exists around cooking and eating deliciousness?

Thanks in advance,
Jenna

There are such camps, unfortunately I don't remember any of their names. But this will give your post a bump up among all the ticket sales posts.

Personally, i enjoy cooking on the playa and we bring a stove, grill, oven, refrigerator and freezer. The camp serves up root beer floats during the afternoon and I'll be serving bacon quesadillas for breakfast several mornings. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

You might want to contact PlayaQ and see if you could volunteer - they do rockstar dinners for the upper ranks of BMorg. Several of my chef friends have volunteered over the years, their kitchen is awesome!

Contact the Golden Cafe/French Quarter/Asia Town. I think they have two or maybe 3 upscale food service operations buried in two adjacent villages.

mm... couldn't find it. Any luck on your end? All I want to do is cook people ridiculously delicious food! is that too much to ask? I'm coming from NY (and can't afford an RV) so i can't just do it all on my own :(

*snark on*
Ummm. You've been given several leads. Any resourceful person could search the theme camp list on the web site and these leads. I would guess you would have multiple offers by now. Hanging out here and waiting for offers to come to you suggests a lack of self reliance that does not bode well at Burning Man.
