You better stop that "willing time to move faster" nonsense!C.f.M. wrote:Awesome, it's a good feeling!! I still got a lot of shit to get done, and last thing I need is the clock ticking away faster.
I'll just have to will time to move slower, then we'll just both be wasting our time counteracting each other.

Not as important preparation as build that boat and getting those animals together.NellieX wrote:Love this thread! It's so motivating.
In preparation for next year's event, today my husband and I took our Target giftcards (we got $300 to Target in wedding gifts), and bought a tent, air mattress, and air pump.
I also got a floaty and a noodle for the beachThat counts as preparation, right?

Yeah! And knowing it's you, I didn't even expect the "now please can you help me to get my burning man ticket" refrain so prevalent on eplaya lately.
Looking forward to meeting you this year!

Sent in my email listing what volunteer shifts I would like as barista at center cafe. Bought adorable apron and milk cow fan for my dairy maid look.

That's depressing. I lost one of my pets last night...at least he'll avoid the second Great Flood.theCryptofishist wrote:Not as important preparation as build that boat and getting those animals together.NellieX wrote:Love this thread! It's so motivating.

I lost my Big Mama shortly before 2009, was very sad. Her and my grandma, I lost that year. Cried and cried during Temple.

Our bikes were delivered today. I get to assemble and start decorating them after work.
We are finally done experimenting with the glow in the dark screen ink and starting to print our camp bandanas and stuff as I type this.

Finished eight cooling neckbands and the prototype vest. Not sure the t-shirt material is going to work with this water absorbing stuff. Might be too thin. Anyhoo, waiting for Sparkle Stallion to get home from work to try it out. Have the leg back up on ice again.

My 50 UV LEDs showed up last night!
They are a little foggier and not as birght as the couple I bought from Radio Shack. O well, they will get the job done. And luckly, Junglesmacks is gonna send me some more.
Since the lighted area isn't as large it will take a few extra!
Thank you Junglesmacks!

Hey, Tamara, where did you get the gel beads for your neckbands? I'm going to make some for my gang (and hopefully have time to make extras) but the only place I've found them is Michaels and they have a crappy selection.tamarakay wrote:Finished eight cooling neckbands and the prototype vest. We bought the medium crystals when ken was trying to make pee bags. That didn't work out, peeing in a jug (yippee for p-styles!) is way easier so now I get to play around with them for vests/neckbands.

Oh thanks, I'll check that out!
I've been thinking about grabbing one of those Pstyles, too. They sound awfully handy.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Bring an empty detergent bottle. It's large, it's opaque, has residual clean scent, and it cannot possibly be mistaken via shape (at night) or appearance (in the day) to be something one wants to drink.
ETA: Minxy, having a funnel has saved me at least 45 minutes a day at Burning Man that I could be using for other things, not to mention some unpleasant trips in the cold. (Estimate how many times a day you pee, and how it's 3-5minutes--each way--per trip, per day).
I recommend practicing at home once or twice.

Yep, it took a couple of times in the shower to get the hang of it (hahaha) but once you get it these things are great. Has already saved me from having to hover at a couple of sketchy gas station potties.Savannah wrote:Bring an empty detergent bottle. +1 I purposely did not rinse all the fabric softener out of the one I put aside for that, my pee will smell like roses (or something like that).Savannah wrote:Bring an empty detergent bottle. Rainy here in NY, I'm still getting over 4 hours in the dentist chair on wed. (Tamarakay, I have a similar story, temp dental for 3 months but I'm not a good candidate for an implant because I broke a ridge of bone) so I worked indoors today.
I finally abandoned the little scrapbooking letters I was attempting to fashion into a sign for one of my projects and resorted to a nifty font I found online and a printer. It's not done but the fruit is close to the ground.
I cut in half the plastic fencing I bought to keep folk (or at least warn them) from wandering into an artillery field and getting klonked on the head.
I started on something I'm bringing to Temple for an ePlayan, sobering stuff.
