Oh it's definitely genetic. My grandfathers' nickname was Jake (for Jakeleg drunk). I come from a long line of drunks. Good hearted wonderful fun loving people, but addicted. I had this habit of waking up on the beach in Corpus Christi with one shoe (the left one). I lived in Austin at the time. No idea how I got there, or why i'd go there. I knew myself enough at the time that I didn't drink hard liquor when I had the kids, which was most of the time thank goodness.

They're sweet unlike normal pickled eggs (blech!). And they're teensy so if you don't like em it's not a big waste. The rice vinegar is a yum multiplier.
JK, try fried quail eggs. I used to make teensy breakfasts with pancakes the size of a half dollar coin and tiny strips of spam.
It's as cute as breakfast can get

I've never had them "ala cart". Some restaurants use them as a garnish on top of steak or to garnish other main course dishes.

We've had a difficult time finding canned pickled quail eggs,,, only through some Asian Market online and shipped to us. Ff??? you must have a quail farm in your neighborhood? We would love to pickle our own!

I love the Dusty Swan. I bought two of their swell caribiner cups from them. One for me at the burn and one for Sweetpea so she can play along at home.

I will definitely try to be there. I've read the workshop agenda and it sounds like great fun. Plus I'm all for people being positive about sex and nobody having to be yelled at, disappointed or violated.

Ever since hearing of the BED a few months back, I've been really interested in them. It sounds like such a great idea. Here's to learning new skills and ideas in the desert. Cheers!

BED isn't doing anything beyond buttons and posters this year. People are burned out. But we would love to have fresh blood, so consider working with us next year, please.

Nope! I get em at the vietnamese or asian markets. There's plenty down there around you. There's about two dozen to a 15 ounce can, packed in water with a hint of salt. I paid $1.69 per can. That's less than $17 for 240 eggs. I buy the big jars of Vlassic bread n butter pickle chips, eat or toss the pickles and dunk my huevos right on in. I get the pickles at Bi-Mart (Go ahead, I'll wait... Ready?) for ~$3.50 a jar. One jar holds 7 cans.
Lil hint. Check the eggs before you dump em into the jar. Sometimes the eggs will have a ruptured white thus allowing the hardened yolk to crumble out into the brine. Doesn't hurt a thing but if you're anal about appearances like me, it'll piss you off...
I usually mix up 1/2 cup each of rice and wine vinegars with a few tablespoons of sugar, stir til dissolved and pour it in. I never actually measure.
I also like putting in a teaspoon of minced garlic (Christopher Ranch in a jar, fresh is too strong for me) and about a tablespoon of tabasco sauce (or more). I'm leaving out the garlic and sauce so they'll appeal to a wider audience.
