How to find your next door neighbors?

Post by huggima » Tue Aug 02, 2011 4:14 pm

Hey folks,
Our camp (Chakralicious Camp) got listed at 4:30 and C, but then again so did many other theme camps. What I'd like to know is how to find out who exactly will be on either side of us, will we be on a corner or further down the street, etc. We wish to share some resources with our neighbors, as well as know about sound bleed, etc, so any info would help. I've emailed the placement team weeks ago but no answer. Thanks!

I'm talking weeks before the burn. It won't do us any good to know on the playa that our next door neighbors will have just as loud a sound system as we do.

I walk to the property line and say hello!

Seriously though, check out that facebook app/whereareyoucamping.com. It has pretty good listings so far.

You'll have to find it on your own, the hunt is half the fun.

When I ask how many burns, I mean at BRC.

And if you find out they do, then what? Buy a bigger sound system?

Very few Camps will know their exact location until they are placed. The few that have that information are generally the Staff camps, DPW Ghetto, The Black Hole etc. A few camps that have made power sharing arrangements in advance will get that information to help organize the gear needed.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.

Well, since neither of you in that location are supposed to be above 90 decibels, which I'm sure you already know, there shouldn't be too much bleed. Talk with them and you should be fine.

Good luck with that. After last years unending audio assault from the Country Western Saloon ( who's idea was it to move them back into the city ? ), playing the same 10 damn songs over and over ( I don't care if you are " A Boy Named Sue " or you have a " Dirt Track Date - Rrrrr, Rrrrr " ), I've designed a 700 watt system that plays back at us so we can blot out everyone elses music !!

'Cause the BR Rangers just laughed when the entire block complained.................
