Hi Brad! A 33-year relationship! Good lord. I'm glad to hear that you are in a place of celebration.

How to find "TICKETS OFFERED":
http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... 90&t=42348

But I strongly recommend you look at the whole 2011 Tickets forum's top 5 or 6 sticky posts, which are about avoiding fraud and having Will Call names switched from a third party to you . . . all the things to help you cover your bum. Also, make sure to tell all your friends on social networking sites, your friends with blogs, the local barista, etc, that you are On the Lookout. Just as if you were looking for work. Then, when they meet a person interested in selling, they think of you. Scalpers are the boogeyman--greatly exaggerated (for now). Most people who have burned before do NOT want to make a profit on a ticket they can't use.

Best of luck!

The Burning Man experience can be anything on the continuum from life-changing experience . . . to fun time . . . to something arduous, not to be repeated. :) So, prepare to the teeth, and empty your mind of expectations. No one can tell you what kind of time you'll have. That's part of the excitement!

I've said it before, but I think jk does a very good thing by coming into this sub-forum and greeting each person who posts a thread here. I appreciate that others are following his good example. As people are constantly pointing out to us, this place can be intimidating and unfriendly. I hope that that little "welcome" makes people feel a little less uncertain about the board when the oldsters are slinging our usual mix of snark and in jokes.
YMMV.

Welcome to eplaya!
I'm sure that is a very scary time/situation.
My folks just split up after 25 years.

I'm glad you're able to find something exciting and hopeful to look forward too.
