2011 Ticket Thread Scorekeeping

I'm a bit concerned about the scorekeeping responses to the ticket seeker threads. While I think they're hilarious, I think that to new new/unwashed masses they're coming off a little too mean-spirited. I know all the radical lack of self-reliance is getting a bit overwhelming, but let's try and give folks a fighting chance at putting two and two again before we fire all starboard snark cannons

I suspect that any of the new crop of ticket-seeker signups who actually look outside the tickets boards and find this thread will find this thread, and having done a little poking around on the boards now can see that a) ePlaya has a ton of great stuff, and b) holy crap those ticket threads are everywhere. and can see this thread and the notion of scorekeeping as good-natured fun. (NOTE TO NEW FOLKS: this is all in the spirit of cacaphony and good-natured fun).

So please, put all the scorekeeping in this thread, and then link to the post you're referring to.

Desperation level:
- "Must" go this year + 5pt
- "need" + 5pt (each)
- Use of "desperate" + 10pt

Keywords (each use):

I don't think for a moment it was your intention (or anybody's, hopefully) to hurt anyone's feelings. It's a way to add a little levity and blow off some steam at a situation that's been overwhelming the boards. There have been roughly 1900 new signups since tickets sold out on the 24th (2850 since the beginning of July)... that's completely unheard of. For comparison, in a typical 'busy season' (July/August) the site sees 1000 or so new people. And of course, because everyone has the ticket madness, very very few of them are taking the time to read anything before posting, or showing much in the way of regard for the board or the ePlaya community that was here before they signed up. The boards are pretty heavily disrupted (frogfufffic started flagging posts), if there aren't ways to lower the tension there will just be more hot-tempered threads.

Hello, I teach a healing modality called EFT (Emotional Freedom techniques) to thousands of burners every year during Bm at Red Lightning. This year I moved to London to marry my Brit. So my ticket money just was earned last week only to find out they are sold out! I would love to buy your tickets at your asking price so I can continue to serve the BM community in healing and fulfilling their dreams. The work I do for RedLighting is too important and valuable not to be able to come at the last moment. I am slated to give six 2 hr healing presentations with the biggest and most bright alternative healing camps on the playa. I am also invited to offer a submission to give TEDX talk presentation, recorded from the playa, which will go out to

I will go on pure faith to the gates with no ticket if I have to, its really that big of a deal to me to be there this year. I have been the last 12 in service to the greater good and have so much to do there this year.

It's a such a mess that I didn't have my funds together to move from California to London. to get married and to fly back to BM in just 8 weeks. It will really support a lot of fellow humanbeings to heal their pain from things like accidents, injuries, illnesses, medical problems, emotional pain, abuse and addictions. Please trust me and I'll trust you. Together healing for this world is possible. Thanks for being willing to go through all this. You could have sold them for alot more on eBay like so many others have done. Good job for posting here instead.

Especially since rangers who work their ass off the year before get a free ticket, or a staff reduced price ticket for fewer hours (half assed?) That said, I know her, and she is a terrific person. She may have missed a year and got caught by surprise as so many did. Still, I chuckled when I saw her post, and did a little head shake.
