I thought about using Paypal, but have a couple of reasons why I didn't.
It will be a little easier to keep track of whom to send a dollar back to, taking the time out to address a real letter is more engaging and personal than just clicking a button on a website, it will be interesting to see who decorates their envelope, this day and age it's neat to receive something by snail mail, and I kinda need the envelopes for the extra thing I'm going to send back.
What I'm going to send back is such a cool idea that I almost can't wait untill I get back from the playa. I'd share it here, but I want it to be a surprise (ooooh, it's going to be sooo neat).

I don't see it as much different than having a fundraiser/houseparty except that the "donation" will be returned with value added. Would it be out of line to suggest that part of your finacial problems just might have something to do with generally bad fiscal mis-management on a personal level?
