Camp Placement Out Yet?

Post by theBrooke » Tue Aug 10, 2004 7:15 pm

Please forgive me if this is out, and old news... I haven't been on the net much lately.

To pick our camping spot I usually take the placement, get my map, make a bunch of fun dots where my favorite camps are and go with a spot that has a lot o dot.

Is it out? Got a link?

thanks for any help!

I believe the placement is in the final stages. Folks have been working on it now for weeks. I'd expect to hear something probably within the week (don't take my word on it though) seeing as the BM office is getting ready to close shop and head up to the playa. It'll probably be one of the last bits of business they attend to before heading out.

I've put this up (with typo corrections) at: http://www.thevaultofheaven.com/
click on <B>See <U>Camps</U> of Black Rock City</B> and once there, you can also <B><U>sort by location</U></B> where I have the camps arranged firstly in <i>clock</I> order, then by streets (Esplanade first).

Where is "<B>Orions Belt</B>"?

Orion's Belt

Orion's Belt is the outer ring of Center Camp. Don't know why it is not on the map but concerning since we are placed there.

A little unclear though, as what does Orion&Mercury mean? On the east side or west side or Center camp? Oh well... I updated my camps by location page, so the Orion section is next to the Center Camp section.

Good luck finding your site!

Orion's Belt and the Esplanade or Mercury

Post by affinity » Thu Aug 12, 2004 8:37 am

When your cross street is Orion's Belt there is no way to discern whether you will be on the 5:00 side or the 7:00 side of Center Camp.

When placed at 7:00 and the Esplanade there is no way to know which side of 7:00 you will be on.

The addresses are not intended to be specific, but are meant to allow your campmates and participants to be able to find you.

It is a little tougher with an Orion's Belt address.
