Compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle help

Post by cliff82 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:52 pm

Hi everyone, I have a compressed natural gas vehicle (it's a small shuttle bus) that I am planning to bring to burning man. I will be traveling from the San Francisco area, and the nearest CNG fueling station I can find along the way is in Auburn, CA which is which is 218 miles from Black Rock City. The problem is that the vehicle has a range of around 250 miles, so I would be able to make it there but not back. While I would assume that there are CNG fueling stations somewhere in Nevada,I can't seem to find any.

I was wondering, does anyone know if there is a place to refuel a CNG vehicle in Reno, NV? Does anyone have advice about bringing a natural gas vehicle to burning man? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know my only other option is to add additional fuel tanks to the vehicle, but that is an expensive option and CNG mechanics are difficult to find. Thanks again for any suggestions.

You could phone Nevada Energy Sierra Pacific the local gas co for more info.
