Nyad Puts Early End to Cuba-to-Florida Swim
MIAMI — Diana Nyad, the 61-year-old marathon swimmer, ended her quest to complete a 103-mile swim from Cuba to Key West, Fla., early Tuesday after nearly 29 hours in the Florida Straits battling asthma, shoulder pain and ocean swells.

In Greek mythology, the Naiads or Naiades (Ναϊάδες from the Greek νάειν, "to flow," and νᾶμα, "running water") were a type of nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, and brooks.

Was it me... Or did she look sorta steroided out?
I'm starting to wonder that if you've gone to Burning Man for too many years do you turn so crazy/jaded that you think everything is deserved to you?
A lot of these folks that are really freaking out over not having tickets proclaim that they have been for more than 10 years.
Is 10 years of playa dust in the sinuses just a little too much?

Scientists have realized that the March 11 tsunami that devastated Japan broke two Manhattan-sized glaciers off of the Sulzberger ice shelf in Antarctica. Even though the surge was only 1 foot high when it reached the 260 foot thick ice shelf, it was enough force to cause the break. The shelf had previously not moved in 46 years. Story at CNET

Sweetpea was raised on a dairy farm. Due to consumption of whole, raw milk she could kick my ass in her better days. She still can with just a stare!

It's some sort of health issue.

I suspect (based on their enthusiasm) that he'll have to figure out some sort of way to get her out there, and a way to allow her to participate dispite the problems.

I don't know any specifics, however, so grain of salt...

I need to rant, talk, whatever you want to call it. But I can't wait to get out of this house I'm living in. My "husbands" landlady come over here and chews me out because the outside of the house (the yard front and back, the dying lawn and flowers, the 7 cars (counting mine) the little trailer, and all the crap Les keeps outside of the garage, the list goes on and on. I have to agree with her but I can't say a thing fearing I'll lose the roof over my head.

Then once again, for the most part of the past two weeks, Les treats me like I'm shit. Plus I'm getting fat. When I get stressed I eat. At least 2 of the boys treat me with some respect. My 24 y.o. and I get along good. He barely speaks to Les. He told me he wasn't a good role model. I swear I will NEVER get married again. I feel I'm not worthy of love or a loving relationship. I know all men aren't assholes. I have to keep saying that to myself over and over. I know there are a lot of good men out there. Right now...at this very moment, I'm not thrilled with the way things are going in my life.

I can't wait to get to the playa. I may never leave...
