More excuses from bullies trying to justify their shitty attitudes and behavior. You might say, like Jkisha, that new members should grow a backbone or fuck off, but isn't that the problem summed up right there? Radical rejection by an elitist few, who feel entitled to set the agenda. MODERATORS should be setting the agenda, and not giving a shit if someone is upset because their stupid trolling post was removed.

Moderators are not the privileged elite who get to set the agenda, it is the members of the community who do. The moderator's role is that of referee, not police. Those who cannot bring themselves to contribute are rewarded with the results of those that do.

One point you either overlooked, or ignored, is that you were told to fix it yourself. The weight of your opinion will be judged by your actions and not your criticisms.

And for your information, I am not a "white" male, being a "half-breed" I get the benefits of being excluded by both groups.

Actually, the more vague the instructions, the easier it is to heard the cats. Vagueness gives each moderator the latitude to do their job the way that they interpret the rules. What will BMORG do if they don't like your interpretation, fire you? Especially ironic considering you just resigned.

I really feel sorry for anyone who's interested in burning man who happens upon threads like this. These things really missrepresent what the playa has been for myself and many other people.

I personally think we have an obligation to slew snark at those who are out of touch with the real world. The people who expect their hands to be held the entire way, the people who won't use that melon above their neck to at least try and help themselves, the people who feel self-entitled, the people offering up plainly worthless stuff like they think they're pulling the wool over our eyes (e.g. "fresh vegetable chefs"), the people who get offended because of the snark. What we see here is a microcosm for society as a whole, and if people are getting harsh treatment for their behavior, perhaps they'll carry those lessons to other parts of their life.

Really, why should anyone be afraid that their question will draw snark? Wouldn't that imply that the person hasn't done their homework to begin with? That the person hasn't taken time to assess the situation? I know that when I'm in a new social arena, I try to evaluate the situation before potentially sticking my foot in my mouth. Is this some kind of lost art?

Maybe the problem is that people come to ePlaya thinking this place is a nesting ground for hippies who are all hugs. I sure did when I first visited. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was not. People here are helpful, but you need to help yourself first. It's the least you can do and shows that you're putting some effort into the problem before you tap into someone else's.
