Fuck, lack of sleep due to work has now caught up with me. I am coming down with a heck of a cold now. I have brought in reinforcements in the form of Buckley's Cold & Sinus pills, Traditional Medicinals throat coat and breathe easy teas (they work wonders on symptom relief, I swear by them), and some benzocaine lozenges. Hopefully they help me win the battle quickly. Any other suggestions to fight this thing off? I don't want to be sick for the burn...

Fufa, if it's already made a home, not sure this will work. I like zinc. I think it really shortens duration and intensity of a cold if you use it early, like the first day, when you start getting that itchy feeling in your throat, and you wonder if you are getting a cold. zinc lozenges. When it's full on in the head, I like the breathe easy tea as well, lots of hot liquids, keep hydrated. Also, do you like Thai food? Get some Tom ka gai soup, and ask for it extra hot... that will get the sluices open in your head. I usually make some and keep it in my freezer for when I get a cold. lots of chili, and lots of lime.

I think fresh orange juice helps.
I drink simply orange grove version as an alternative.
I've used some ola loa stuff.
Can't hurt.

So, I get home from camping yesterday and this is what my kitty looked like (only there was more green gooey stuff in her eye). This morning, I take her to the vet and they pull out a fucking seed pod that had embedded itself IN her fucking eye! She's going to be fine but, I have to put antibiotic drops in her eyes every two hours plus I have to give her a pain killer every four hours that I squirt in her mouth... Needless to say, my cat thinks I am a fucking minion of kitty hell.

Here's a fucking post I put on FB this morning...
"Not a good week so far. Spent Sunday in ER trying to find out why the world was spinning out of control. Ends up I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. They have me on diazepam (valium) to help control it. I'm still hoping to head to the Playa on Sunday but at this moment I'm taking it day by day. And to top it all off when they did a CAT scan they also found a cyst on my brain. Like I said, it hasn't been a good week so far."
Funny thing is that I'm more worried about missing Burning man than I am about the cyst. The vertigo, on average, only last three days. I hope that is true. I'll take the meds one more day and see what happens Thursday morning. Hope to get out to the Playa on Sunday to help erect the Temple. I spent too much time building it to miss seeing it go up.
