It was the freeze dried kind. It just sort of sat there in the hot water and made crunchy orange pasta soup.
The horror . . .
Yeah, screw the freeze dried crap.
Just get some good old "Easy Macs" mind you each cup only has like 3 bites.
Or, something that I like is "cheddar cheese Cup'o'noodle" But, it is pretty much just wet noodles in cheesy broth/water.
If you go for the "Mountain House" I love the Chicken A La King

O yeah, My one item of the day!
I got these totally awesome blue "ninja" pants from ARC. They are some sorta womans pants, but they are super flowy, and light. But they make me feel like a ninja!

Ninja pants! Those are great.

Whenever I have pants I like, I can't help but say "They help me move like a . . . like a Law Enforcement Cheetah." And do a deep lunge, like Lieutenant Jim Dangle on Reno 911.

Nice, Red, I wish I had room for one more cooler, I'm not sure I'm going to have room for the two coolers I plan on bringing.

Today I loaded my project into the vehicle that I will be putitng onto the NY container this Saturday with the help of a handtruck. Thanks Jeebus it fit into the car. I won't have room for the handtruck for the trip so if you see somebody rolling a big box end-over-end next to a shipping container say "hi".

I pulled the test strip of painter's tape I'm planning on using for the Reflectx off of the vehicle today. It left a sticky film on the chrome but none on the door panel. Looks like I'll be cutting the Reflectex to cover the chrome and adhere to the vehicle to simplify the deplayafy clean-up.

I fabricated ad hoc spotlight stations by mounting solar lights to half tubes of PVC that will be rebarred to the playa for my projects (and managed to save the fingertip on my left index finger in the process).

I picked up rebar caps, a broom, and red blinking emergency lights for a project.

I spent an hour in the sun reading on a chaise in a futile attempt to conceal my farmer's tan.

I think the trick is to slather yourself in peanut oil and don some bicep-length white satin opera gloves.

THEN lay out.

I'd pay to see that!

My girl friend wouldn't stop making fun of me because I kept making ninja noises and "karate chopping" things.
Now I'm on the hunt for a blue-ish foam sword.

Do they have to be white? Shit, another trip to the thrift stores.

Actually, I noticed tan lines at my waist while showering, I have two weeks.
I'm more concerned about the feet, blinding white. What do you think capris?
I'm gonna need something for the face too.

I'm not a costume kinda guy but I could see that satin opera gloves, a hangman's hood and capris might keep the hecklers at bay.

At first I read your post as "Shadow *FURRY* Blue" not "Fury Blue"
I immediately thought, "Fuck yeah! Blue furry sword, I want one NOW!!!!"

Then looked at the link.... I'm gonna have to attach my own blue fur. :x

I can do about 4 hours, maybe less if I am having a bad day, at a stretch. I am open to all options at this point. Someone to go with me or someone offering a ride. I just want to get to the burn somehow and not have wasted all this time and planning.

Jim Dandy *Swoon*...
Speaking of Jim, I scored the hottest hot pants / short shorts @ Goodwill today. Sweetpea LOVES them. Jim would too.
Three other pairs of short shorts as well.
And the piece de resistance?
A very subdued dark camo Tactical Combat Skirt! It has pockets and a sturdy waistband that I can rivet D-rings onto for carrying my field gear while still allowing me to 'breathe' properly.
Sweetie put em all in the wash and wants to shoot some photos tomorrow.
You WILL see it soon...
The hot pants? You'll have to wait til the playa. I don't wanna violate the TOS...

Got involved with Burn 2 (SecondLife Burning Man). I'm going to be a Burn 2 Ranger! It sounds kinda dorky, but I'm super excited. Also, I learned that they will have a real-life presence on the playa, which is pretty damn cool! Burn 2 camp will be near 4:00 and K, I believe? I could be wrong...she said near the walk-in camp area.

Either way, I'm glad to be participating with a method I can manage this year!

Is flying somewhere a bit closer, then driving, an option for you?

Avoided a traffic jam by swinging by Goodwill again and WOOHOO! got sweetie some shiny leggings and I got a super sweet jagged skirt--exactly what I was looking for! Also got a couple frilly panty/bloomers--with tags! then I came home and re-tooled a tie-dye skirt and now it actually fits! yay! :D

We also started making lists of things to do, how much water to bring since we're with a theme camp this year. Talked to our carpooler and he has tons of wisdom to impart, as he's been burning since 2003. score. Oh yeah and booked our room at Circus Circus for $39. Carpooler says CC is burner central and will be sorta like a pre-party...with buffets :)

Yeah shiny leggings*! Where did you find the bloomers, or what's the brand name? I'm definitely interested in getting some to prevent chub-rub under my skirts.

*I worked at a store where you could get them for about $20, new. If anyone needs a hook-up, I'd be happy to oblige!

Probably neither but I should save some surprises for the playa, no?
We'll see what Sweetpea wants. She really loves them :D
I'm still cracking up about the denim camo Combat skirt. She was speechless and shaking her head.
She asked if it was for the playa. Um, yeah, I'm not wearing it to a restaurant!
I told her all the other kids wear kilts out there but I'm not gonna pay $300 for a utility kilt.
She really does like it though :)

A pleated plaid skirt might go a long way for you out there. Just tell people it's a metrosexual take on the kilt.
