Art Model Camp has room for one more

Postby twistmeyer » Thu Aug 11, 2011 12:23 am

Due to one of our female models needing to cancel, we've an extra space in Art Model Camp. We hold daily figure drawing sessions from 12noon to 3pm, with refreshments afterwards. Ideally we'd like a female camper of any age or body type willing to model at least a couple of 30 minute sessions during the week, or a female artist willing to help around the camp with signing up models, helping keep things moving smoothly from session to session, etc. If you are both an artist and a model, so much the better, and you'll get the opportunity to draw a very eclectic range of ages, genders and body types. We're a little overbooked with male campers right now, but would also consider a male camper who is an experienced model, or a couple. Our poses can be anywhere from 1 minute to 30 minute, depending on the abilities of the model and artists' preferences.

If you fit either of the above profiles, but don't want to camp with us, please come visit us anyway to model or draw, we had a great turnout of both artists and models the last two years, enough that we had to build extra shade to accommodate them. This is my fourth year with the camp, and the camp's 6th year on the playa. We'll be at about 6:35 and Funeral.

Our camp has ample shade, a geodesic dome which serves as kitchen and social space, and a lovely location not too far from Center Camp in the fabulous Alternative Energy Zone. The drawing sessions are timed, but artists and models run the show, no instructor calling the shots, so it's a friendly and supportive environment. The AEZ is a generator-free zone, so things are quiet, but it's a very eclectic fun crowd. Our camp skews a bit older with some very experienced Burners, but we keep things fairly low maintenance and very low-drama. We'll be setting up the camp early, so really you would just need to bring your food, water, and gear.

PM me if you are interested.
