I really can't go this year, I have buckets of debt, a new job, and I'm looking for a place to live...
yet I have been offered THREE tickets after sell-out, at very reasonable prices, and my job has been delayed!! (though I don't think until after the burn... I think until just before... which is even more of a kick in the pants.) And I haven't found a house. So I have september's rent sitting in my pocket.
AGGGGGHHHH Can someone please tell the playa to stop calling me home??? how do you guys deal with it?? I guess other than going every year!!! haha.

(2) Bring bucket home
(3) Stick head in bucket
(4) Breathe deeply
(5) Repeat as necessary.

Make your own mini-regional for Burn night.
Ugly Dougly is gathering people in SF to go to the beach & having a bonfire; is there a place along the river or a nearby lake where you could do the same? Gather friends, post it on fb, then on Burn Night you have your own little party & it won't be so rough. Even if you can't do the fire, maybe lots of candles & blinkies and just a celebration.
