Bought 70 packets of hot cocoa for enjoyment and gifts, 300 feet of rope, pulled the screen house down and packed it up finally, got eating utensils...man...I think we may be close to being good to go. All that remains is packing and making more gifts. :D
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.

Two more small projects 50% finished, all major projects done except one and that'll be done Friday.

Need to paint, varnish and decorate one more StickHob for the County Fair in two weeks. (No, NOT the Country Fair...I'm not that good yet ;))

Pile o' Schtuph™ in the living room is now four times my girth and taller than me.

Need to take the car into Midas to have the engine, brakes, tran and electricals checked and cleared.

Need to pick up henna to do my hair with.

Need to pick up beads for gifting the participants in the World of Darkness LARP on Friday night.

Need to do the white EL wire filigree on my frock coat.

Bed mostly packed in back.

Hand-crank meat slicer picked up, I can do my own Mongolian BBQ out there!!! =D

Sourced a better and lower-priced campstove that includes an oven, at Harbor Freight Tools, no less! (But that means I'll be picking up the big LP canister now...)

Need to decorate the lanterns for camp.

Good thing the only things left on my "Acquire" list are food...

You're having a Mongolian bbq? *head sideways - drooling onto my collar*

C-c-c-can we stop by? I'll bring lamb if you will cook it...Sliced lamb and onions....and wacky hot oil.....mmmm......with broccoli....

Our 55 gallon drum with tap smells very strongly of peppermint. We decided as a camp that it would be groovy to take peppermint flavored showers but that drinking peppermint flavored water didn't sound that great, so it's now the shower jug. Especially since we don't know what made that smell, exactly. The people at the store said it was a used pickle barrel...Strange.

Got a second shade structure. Got ten gallons more water. Tommorow -
clean out the trunk of the car.
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.

As for BM. We will blow through your town about 8;30 sat. morning. Down to Roseburg and hang a left up and over. Will stop on top to pick up some special stones. Grand Father wants them for gifting.
I'm the contraptioneer your mother warned you about.

Fat Sam, you are MORE than welcome to stop by and have dinner with the Wolf. Technically, it's going to be thinly-sliced food stir-friend in a cast iron pan, but hey...

Or maybe we should take this over to the "Foodies, Unite!" discussion...

Unjon, I would be most honoured if you stopped by the Fair. The Hobs are going to be in the Adult Professional section, under...gosh, I can't even remember which categories they're entered in, never mind, you can't miss 'em. Look for a black knight's horse with furry feet, mane forelock and tail forever, and a very colourful caparison made out of high-end upholstery samples. The Sea Dragon is going to have real oyster shell and fine copper mesh fins and holding a sand dollar. The Anubis of course will have his water bottle and Intergalactic Towel slung over his shoulder :)

Where do you turn at Roseburg? We always make the turn at Goshen, towards Oakville. Any advantages over the Roseburg turn route than the Oakville one (other than a lack of surly lake-goers)?

I have about 14 photos left on this roll, I'll burn 'em off tomorrow. Going to see friends up in Portland, we can just putz around and do the "taking pictures of ourselves on a lazy fun summer afternoon hanging out together" thing.

The Sea Wolf is going up for sale on eBay starting a week before the Burn, we're setting the opening bid at $65. Hopefully he'll sell and I'll have a kick-ass Hallowe'en costume :)

Back on topic...

Got the orange facial scrub yesterday...

Appealed to the Freecycle network for an 8-foot 4x4 post...getting one tomorrow...

Sourced a kick-ass campstove and the store has plenty...

Started on a nice Saturn decoration to hang in my camp, photo reference taken from the recent Cassini infrared photos...

Bed desk is almost done, just waiting on the varnish to dry...

Made a nice MOOP gathering container...Gods, Fusions spray paint is such a lifesaver...

Kitchen wreath should be done tonight...

Packed up another box of kitchen stuff...

Packed up some soup cans and jellies...

Let's just say that I've got more in the "Done" column and more items in the packlist coloured blue and green than I have in the "Still To Be Done" and the red.

How cool is that? 8)

Just to tally since the last check-in:
  • "Food Is Life" wreath finished,
    Hair hennaed,
    Shoes Scotch-guarded,
Sea-Wolf StickHob sold (thanx, Sensei :))

My honey totaled his truck a year ago this week, coming home from a family reunion in Tahoe...we SO feel your pain. (He did upgrade to a bigger truck as a result, which was nice as hell to have for the trip up last year.)

Get 'er done

Post by kiddo » Mon Aug 16, 2004 5:55 pm

Got 'er done a little. Got gifties, some carabeners and like beer cozies and then like 35 shirts for our nifty Burning Man design. Got some more tarps, got a new lantern and fuel for the camp stove, batteries for my mag lite and headlamp, some big ass water containers, a bunch of chap sticks to give away, some spray bottles, my schedule for volunteering at Camparctica and some of the booze (two big old jugs of Carlo Rossi). That's what the NorCal section of camp has checked off, the SoCal kids are rocking a massive shade structure, a bike with a fat solar powered stereo on it pedi-cab style (the Solar Disco), food lists, scenery... we still have A LOT to do. But we're not running short of that good old BRC anticipated excitement!

Second pair of Poop Patrol playa-pants made. It was a last minute epiphany. I was at Jo-Ann's buying notions, and realized that I was going to use my debit card for $3. So I got 6 yard of unbleached muslin ($.99/yard). Heck, I could really use another pair of poop patrol pants. Today I sewed them, and now wearing them.

Somebody kick me in the buttocks to get the plastic sign-sheets cut. Gadz! It's like taking finals, my house gets completely clean to avoid doing something.

A side question is: What project are you avoiding?

Decorating my bike. I'm still haggling over whether to bring it or not; if it's going to be muddy/dusty, it'll be mostly unrideable and there's no point in bringing something that's going to sit in camp and be swipable all week.

Then again, it doesn't take up a lot of room and I'd probably kick myself if I didn't bring it.
