My mobile den of indescribable iniquities (camping trailer) is coming along.
I ripped out half of the DC wiring harness and the entire AC harness. I replaced lots of the substandard DC wiring with UL listed tinned extra stranded 105C wire. I rewrapped it with plenum rated spiral wrap to facilitate future adds / mods. All AC wiring was replaced with 12/2 UF/B. Tomorrow the new converter (charger / 12VDC power supply for shore power) will be landed. The AC connections will now be in a 4-square workbox with dual duplex cover. I wired up the faceplate with one 20 amp duplex and a combo switch-outlet to facilitate turning off the converter when not needed. Also installing two 12VDC power ports and replacing the fluorescent kitchen light as well as installing a light on the aft side of the overhead cabinet facing the dining area.

After wiring, the water tank goes back in and the final connections on the water pump (now with a fuse!) will be made.
Patching and glassing the shower floor and bulkhead wall are next.
God, I can't wait to fill her up with the sweet dust o' the playa...

Our Airship Outpost is coming along. The facade pieces that I'd cut out last week are in the process of being painted (self-described job site supervisor hamming it up in the second picture). Then last night had my last session on the ShopBot to carve and cut the facade pieces, everything came out beautifully and I still have all my limbs...hooray!

We'll be in the vicinity of 9:00 & Graduation (placed camp, you don't really know for sure where until you get there).

And woohoo for an update from one of my campmates, she got her health permit approved! She's bringing out a pizza oven, and plans on offering "Space & Thyme" temporal pizza delivery to random people and camps throughout the week.

"Hi - here's the pizza you ordered!"
"Uh, we didn't order any pizza"
"Not yet you haven't - this order was placed next week!"

She's been having a lot of fun working up the concept and silly slogans and whatnot, can't wait to see it all come together.

You rock in overdrive Trilo!

The trailer electrical progress continues. Ended up replacing ALL 120VAC wiring.
DSCN0312.JPG

Newly wrapped DC wiring harness, new AC wiring (14/3 UF/B), Water lines and pump reinstalled, and flying leads waiting for the deep cycle battery. The big box @ top center is a propane fired water heater.
DSCN0315.JPG

Installed a quad-plex with a 20 amp duplex and a switched outlet for the converter/charger.
The C/C charges the deep cycle battery and converts 120VAC to 12VDC when running on the generator.
The switch is to shut off the C/C when the battery is removed in the off season and will allow the other AC loads to run.

Tomorrow the water tank goes in and glassing the shower begins in earnest...

I'm not much into playa "art" or "participation" that entraps people or shocks people or in any way involves them unwanted participation.

My week has been spent playing wood butcher in my crash construction project for our new theme camp fun thing: The Oracle! Due to defaultia stuff, I wasn't able to get really started on this until last weekend. Not to whine, but it's been over 100 every day out in Joshua tree, so I have to work for a bit and then take a short break to cool down. The major construction is almost done and the weekend will be all about getting the electronics installed and working correctly... woohoo! I do hope you folks come by and play!

And don't worry, UglyDougly, I don't think my campmate was seeking your approval or praise for her plans. If anyone's keeping a jaded burner scorecard, you probably get some points though.

Progress continues for my projects. Jettisoning the idea of tricky lighting made the trike basket panels much easier. I sprayed the inside panel with a reflective silver metallic paint, should look pretty good in daylight...

Image

Here's a finished cutout of our camp symbol I cut out on ShopBot, and PaniGirl painted up. In theory it'll be at the top of the structure.

Image

For the upper deck of the airship outpost, I wanted to do some panels with a little detail work. If you have access and training to use a 60 watt laser, USE the 60 watt laser at every opportunity :D

Image

Post-laser cutter...

Image

Same panels, after a bit of paint...

Image

And today saw a trip to our storage place, where I dug all the poles and checked my inventory against my build plans.

Image

Everything is completely locked down for the main structure, and I have the materials to make the structure for the upper deck of the airship outpost. Hoping to get on that tomorrow, as well as build the stairs and get a solid start on the upstairs railing. Pani's trike arrived the other day too, so I need to get that built too (that way if any parts are missing, there's time to have Worksman send out a replacement). My goal is to get all my own personal build projects done by the weekend, so next week can be all about stocking up on food/drink and getting the pre-cooking done (as well as packing/loading/etc).

Me neither - we're in that 'less than 1 week before departure' timeframe, so there's a bit of a panic about getting everything done in time. Fingers crossed :)
