Still ALMOST finished with three projects. I'm burnt out. I hate sewing. I also hate flying. Pack, unpack, repack if I have to check a bag, after mailing THREE boxes, I'm gonna be pissed. Next year I am bringing NO GIFTS or anything other than what I need.

Tested our camelbacks for leaks. Loaded the packs so we just have to add water and a snack. Pallet wrapped the monkey hut parts. Assembled and packed the camp first aid stuff. Picked up no rinse soap and sporks at REI. Ran through our master checklist and made a final shopping list.

MyLarry fixed the igloo hinges last night, and the funked up light switches on the rhoadescar. He agreed that except for packing clothes and such, that we could leave right now. Oh, there's tons to do, and the bikes don't have baskets ... but hey, WE don't ride those bikes. Those who do will have to figure that detail out.

I'll be making art until the last day, and I don't have the adoption cards done. I am not worried in the slightest. This is, in part, to having the burden of eplaya lifted and shared by rockstar mods and the trainees.

I put some color changing led's into a bunch of boring little white keychain lights.

Hopefully the final shopping spree is done (credit card is so hot it is close to melting at this point).

Picked up:
Insulated mugs with screw top that seals tight and a carabiner type handle at REI.
Head lamps.
Waterproof camera bag.
Fabric for camp flag, large rotary cutting mat 3' x 4'.
Small garden sprayer.
Hardware to adapt lighting to our bicycles.

Back to sewing.

Bought a cheap beach cruiser today that actually fits my tiny short legs. I decorated it with a black and white brocade duct tape, then attached a plastic bin (cute black floral pattern storage bin at walmart) drilling holes and using zip ties for a basket. Attached the light kit and I'm good to go. (AntiM, the cheap plastic bin and zip tie trick worked well to make a basket if you are looking for more bike baskets yourself)

Found out my riding partner's Dad gifted us a hotel stay in Nebraska at our half-way driving point so we will get some rest for free!

After making $160 on eBay last week, my parents just gave me another $350 cause I house sat for them when they went to Sturgess. I was doing it for free but they knew I needed the help making it to Burning Man and making my COBRA payments. I literally started crying when my Dad gave it to me. This is a huge stress off my shoulders and lets me maybe even make it home from BRC NOT broke. Yay!

C.F.M. I've been reading your blog for ages and love it. All the sewing you do and prep work inspires me. I'm so happy you got a windfall on eBay yourself. Enjoy your Sushi!

Figjam, your creativity inspires me! I have a few extra lights kinda like those and now I know what I'm gonna do with them. You're a rock star!

Your parents go to Sturgess?

Thank you for the compliment, it's very encouraging when I feel like keeping my life private! - you should comment! Pet my existential crisis. 8)

I finished some pants, last night, and started on our camp tee. I don't wear t-shirts, so I have to turn it into something I'll wear. I think after that I'm DONE. My goal is to be packed tonight and ready to go, so I can panic tomorrow and freak out about going to bed early Tuesday...THEN OMG WEDNESDAY I AM ON A FUCKING PLANE GOING HOME.

Not that I'm excited or anything.

Today I need to make my list of last-minute stuff. Unplug things. Water cats. Set away msg on work email.

Finished sewing pockets in my coat.
Sewed up and grommeted a flag for our camp.
Picked up some light hats and dry erase board at dollar store.
Practiced drinking PBR for the rest of the evening.

Made a still to make list:
Sew up an ear hat to match coat.
Paint / decorate my ashtray tins.
Take in that 3x skirt.
Make one embroidered jacket into a vest.

I am getting really tired of all this last minute sewing.

I'm tired of all the IDEAS coming at the last minute. I mean, I've had a YEAR for this shit, and NOW you have an idea, brain? Thanks a lot.

Ear hat done and made a second for my wife in some short pile pink fur as well.

I normally wear the same camo ball cap year in and year out, but it seems like I'm bringing more hats than Imelda Marcos has shoes.

Have to take in a couple items and then I can pack the sewing stuff away for now. Need to clean up all this faux fur hair too. Running a lint roller over everything that has been exposed to it so I don't arrive with ready made moop.

Looks like our plans to do a test pack of the car will be rained out this afternoon though.

So glad I did, all rind  I guess maybe the tree didn't get enough water or they are a baking variety anywho..I planned on picking my tree anyway and I gotta say even the tiny ones on my Mexican LIme tree all juice and pulp ! Gonna swing by a few farmers market and get a few more for the M n G

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS10 $159.99 on Amazon.

I started reading reviews and getting all nerdy about it and then realized I didn't have $500 for a camera, nor time to really research a product properly, so I went with my gut. Hope it works out.

Thanks for the reply, was looking at the Kodak Playsport zx5, found it at a great price £98.00 but too late to get it delivered, so I may look when I arrive in the US.

Picked up a few odds and ends including a spare tent pole, hopefully I won't need it, wont have to gift it and I'll return it at a later date. My shopping list is down to car air freshener (I'm looking for a specific brand/scent), paper towels, bike, food and water. Reno for the last three items.

I opened all the packaging and organized the piles, zip-bagged all loose related items (and loosely related items too). Ikea has awesome zipper bags. I packed up the totes and will attempt to get everything into my vehicle tomorrow. On the list of things to exclude it they don't fit are spare tent (to gift) and two lions.

I've been taking a 3 mile bike ride after my morning walk for the last few weeks. This morning I found my rear tire flat. Rather than take the time to fix it I grabbed my oldest daughters bike. It was an epiphanic experience. First off the handlebars, they forced me into an upright posture, no hunching over and not having the bar in the middle was so liberating. But the seat, it was so comfy, it cradled my butt cheeks and made me feel all warm and tingly inside. It struck me how relaxed and laid back the whole experience was. Very different than the aggressive stance my men's bike puts me in. I leisuely pedaled, just enough to keep my balance and it gave me the opportunity to soak in my surroundings. I used to tease/admonish my daughter to keep up when we went biking together, now it all makes sense. It's funny have societal stereotypes work their way into the simplest of designs.

.....or maybe it was the baked goods.
