BURNING MAN TO LA - Overnight stop?

Hi there Burners,

I coming over from London, UK for this year's Burning Man along with my girlfriend, and we're driving to and from LA in a Winnebago. We're going to take route 395 there and back, but on the return leg of the journey want to stop off somewhere overnight to chill and recover. Any tips gratefully appreciated, we can do simple and modest, or grand and lush!!!

There are some recommendations there, though mostly for food and sights, rather than an overnight place for the RV. Perhaps someone else can recommend one of the small towns specifically . . .

We drive that route too, it's beautiful. Last year we stayed at Whiskey Flats in Hawthorne clean showers and nice folks, nothing fancy and I don't remember a pool but all in all a nice place

Hey yes jella I'll second that, Whiskey Flats is my stop going to BRC from Santa Barbara, CA, too! Good big grocery store a short walk away and right by a fuel station.

Coming home I stop at the Boulder Creek RV spot just south of Lone Pine. Very nice place with pool and spa even! http://www.bouldercreekrvresort.com/ They have complimentary muffins for breakfast yum =)

Both places sell propane too.

If you want to camp some more I really enjoyed staying here. Red Rock Canyon State Park. We were the only ones in the campground when my wife and I Stayed there a few years ago. About the quietest place I've ever been. It was very nice. No real amenities or anything if that's more of what you're lookign for. It is just off the 395 before you get to LA. Like 120 miles north of LA.
