Spoke to Budget Reno on Saturday and got a no go once mentioned BM.
Can they refuse hire if I show up without mentioning BM?

Reserve online, and choose the "business" rental type for the lower per mile cost.

Hmmm. Already in the planning stages for 2012 (I'm in the UK) and had high hopes for Classic Adventures (www.classicadventuresrv.com), but it seems their 2012 rates START at $5,500 for a 23' RV per week!
And BM is longer than a week...
They managed to sell out in 2011 so there's obviously a bunch of folks happy to pay a lot for the convenience of a nearby RV place but that doesn't strike me as very Burner-friendly. Looks like I'm back to looking as San Francisco....

Saw a fleet of budget truck rentals (16 footers) headed east into Reno/Sparks the other day on I80 (just outside of Sparks). Me thinks their getting ready for US!!!
Oh my god, it's HUGE!
Re: need a Burner friendly rental truck in Reno
If you want a really good deal, start your planning for 2012 about a month after 2011 has finished, thats what I did and got an RV for £1000 with all the extras + suppl insurance for this burn. Also, go for a rental with a third party agent which get really good deals for overseas people. Ones that only rent to non-usa residents will help you save a bunch of money. Ours is with Road Bear, who, I am told, are a burner friendly company and i got it through a company called california cheap rv rental.Hmmm. It took me about 2 weeks of trawling through internet pages to get the right one however

Thanks Cheyenne!
Yeah, I had wondered about non-US sites being cheaper. I think we used a Australian one in 2009! Seems like the one you recommended post rates 350 days before available, so about mid-Sept.
Cheers!
