Any remaining orphans want to band together?

I have been preparing myself for a solo trip but I thought it might be fun to set up a small camp of sorts with other wayward folk.

About me:
Avid camper/hiker/backpacker who's a meteorologist in the default world. I have a 10x10 screened-in shade canopy with some tricks to keep it grounded. Being a desert backpacker, I have most/all of the essentials for the desert. You can call me Marco Polo. I'll have spices from around the world ready to gift to flavor-seeking burners (i'm waiting for my first conversation with a LEO.."No, really officer, this *is* oregano!)

I'm looking to join up with fun people that can be self-sufficient in a camp, but enjoy lending a hand, a cup of coffee, or a story to others. No jobs, just take care of your own situation. It's mainly a basecamp where you can go out and do your thing and come back knowing that your belongings were a little safer.

Of course, I'll be sure to help out and get to know my neighbors too, wherever I camp.

Anyone interested? Maybe we can pick a random spot in Reno to enjoy lunch then caravan in? PM me.

Great idea! We have 1 or 2 possible places to camp but no confirmation yet, so if neither one comes through we're up for that. We are 2 girls from SF--one virgin, one veteran. We were late in our decision to go and are therefore scrambling to pull it together. We'll (hopefully have a 10x12 shade structure.

What day are you going? We're not arriving until Wednesday. So looking forward to the adventure!

I have room in my car for someone who needs a ride in from the Chico/Yuba City/Grass Valley/Reno areas and doesn't mind meeting at the aforementioned lunch-pad in Reno.

I'm coming up solo from Sac via Reno and figured I'd camp somewhere around 5:15 C or D as a burner friend usually camps in that area. I'm flexible though - an orphan camp could be cool.

I'll be driving a beige '84 landcruiser and my plan is to build an aluminet quonset hut over the top of it. I will be entirely self-sufficient so no worries there.

Sounds good! Would be fun to meet some new folks so if we can coordinate it, cool! The Sunday night arrivals could nab some space maybe and we'll go from there.

Any ideas just throw them out there.

Camp near us at Sharkey's Bar and Lounge and you'll be treated with all the libations and fried food you liver and arteries can possibly endure. Not to worry, though, we're deep in the 'burbs around 7:30 and I so you'll exercise it all off just trying to get anywhere.

Ok, so I'll be at Naan and Kebaab in Reno at 11:30am on Monday. Anyone's free to meet up with me there to have some rock solid kebabs then caravan into BRC.

You know, you all could set up camp at the ORPHANAGE village (Orphan camp 1,2, and 3) at the intersection of 5:15 and I. The NE corner is unoccupied at this time.

Thanks for the heads up HarborBomber! I did check out your camp earlier but was under the impression that it was getting full. It looks like a nice area too!
