To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
Please PLEASE stop zooming in and out and around too FAST, I'm getting seasick! It's bad enough missing the Burn this year but trying to watch it on UStream is a nightmare. Let us watch people, zoom in on them walking and cycling by so we can see what they wear or drive. Focus on a camp so we can watch people coming and going - focus on the Man for more than 5 seconds so we can watch people climbing it. Focus on the Temple so I can see more detail of it (looks stunning this year, miles better than 2010 one). And stop the epic zooms that are nothing but blurry and out of focus. Pleeeaseeee make my Camp Envy experience an enjoyable one that doesn't need motion sickness pills
Thankeeeee!
Thankeeeee!

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
Someone else must be operating now, the manic zoomer is probably in bed. Steady footage of a mahoosive dust storm at the mo! I can see my addiction to UStream will stop me sleeping most of this week and not gettin gmuch work done
Will be up at 3am or whenever it is for the man and temple burns at the weekend too

Are they at the event or are they operating the camera remotely?

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
Not sure, but it's still common sense not to do manic zooming and panning, wherever you're doing it from. It's not a Michael Bay movie
Just watching now and the city is ablaze with neon and propane, I LOVE nights on the Playa. Wish I could teleport there for a few hours, come back then head off to work.

To whoever is operating the Ustream cam....
THANK YOU! Yeah I could whine but even a zoom happy camera is better than no camera. I'm just glad to have it!

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
Huge camp envy!; especially if everyone has noticed how much more alive and crowded the playa becomes as the week rolls by. To the camera operators, we want to see/spy on the interactions of the people, the themecamps, or what groups of people are doing, and watch people on the large mutant vehicles. One thing I don't need to see AGAIN is the sprocket/gear walkthru art installation. And just a suggestion put the camera on top of the pole. Just joking for the most part ; I find myself checking the camera multiple times a day and thouroughly enjoy it. Thank You to the powers that be.

Due to privacy issues, they pixelate the video whenever they're in the crowd so we cannot see anyones face or boobies. The purposely do not zoom in on people for the same reason.

uhhhhh, NO. i've been watching the cam incessantly and not only have i seen tons of people zoomed in but Critical Tits was broadcast to the whole world today including multiple zoomed in shots where you could clearly see topless women.TT120 wrote:Due to privacy issues, they pixelate the video whenever they're in the crowd so we cannot see anyones face or boobies. i'm all about titties but it kinda sucks that those women didnt give anyone permission to be broadcast topless across the globe.

Hey there you go.
Like to hear the sound of the crowds during the burn, but I guess that's impossible.

Lovely shots of the temple burn but my ears are bleeding at the music they are playing. Want to hear Playa audio
Turn off the music!!!!

Temple Burn is sombre. Glad they didn't make it a disco.

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
There is other more suitable music than the droning tripe that was playing. Playa audio would have been great. Beautiful burn though.

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
All possible complaints aside...I enjoyed every minute of my first burn via the ustream...and I very much appreciate that it was available.
So I guess that means my birginity is intact but that I got to at least first base
Sometimes the camera was out of focus, stayed to long on one spot, or moved fast enough to induce a bit of nausea, but all that said...the experience was worth the minor issues...if you wanted to complain about something then mention the choices and lack of volume for some of the music that was provided for added viewing pleasure...sometimes it was great and other times, well it was like getting blue waffles...dry and without any bacon.
I went back tonight to see how the breakdown efforts were coming along...and only the chat was still on...people playing at chaterbation with each other...deeply depressing...I got used to chatting at high speed with my new friends...I was not saddened by the burns themselves...but now that it is over, I do miss the playa cam, even with its faults...feels like I had to move away from friends and family...weird.

I loved the Ustream and BMIR, great coverage of all the burns!! Really made me feel part of BRC staying home for the first time in many years. Love the Camp Envy crew also!

Re: To whoever is operating the UStream Playa Cam
I got up at 5am to watch the man and temple burns on the Sat and Sun and even with 9k people viewing the man burn, the stream held fast. Wicked
