Thank you for playing along

Postby Elorrum » Mon Sep 05, 2011 8:30 pm

Thank you for playing with me and my finish line. It's just a marker for a simple accomplishment: crossing a line. We cheered and celebrated together: ygmir, my dear friend, graidawg, Marnie, Dan, Dale... I sure had a blast with two garden poles, some string, a sharpie pen, and a surplus pink and orange survival banner. It gave me a chance to rethink and remember play and remember what a simple and wonderful thing a toy can be.
(to those from Finnland... make your own damn banner.)

I rode through this a few times, and it really made me smile! Thank you!

I saw one around 5 and f-ish but a different color and thought it was really cool. Well done Ellorum!

That looks awesome. I love stuff like this. An overwhelming reason I go to burning man is for smaller scale neighborhood interactions like this. I swear I have a better time out on 4 oclock & K where I camped then most anywhere else. I see you were up in God's Territory though with the JOTS!

It was wonderful to see you, banner or not. Grai and mdf came by on Monday night and told stories.

Simple and effective. Elorrum, you have made an example of why participation doesn't need big bucks, special skills or lots of spare time.

You "got" the theme and offered a simple way for others to experience it. Well done.

well said Dougly!!
Elorrum: It was such a simple, perfect thing.
I loved holding the other end, and cheering as folks ran, walked, and rode through.

Surely, an example to take to heart, of simple perfection.

Goddamned clever! I wish I'd thought of this. Or run through it. Whichever!

I liked how you guys cheered for us as my girlfriend and I passed through hand in hand. It was a tie.

(((Elorrum))) thank you so much for letting me play with you! All that cheering and whooping and hollering totally stole my voice 8) but, every time I croaked on a word after that I had to grin, remembering how I got that way...
