Theme Camp Seeks Electro-Acoustic Musicians

Post by nick » Tue Aug 17, 2004 1:46 pm

Dear Burners,

With all the chatter about folks wanting a greater diversity of music, our camp, The Tribe of the Chattering Monks, has decided to throw open our dome to electro-acoustic performers of all stripes!

We are looking especially for innovative and experimental performers who are smaller than a full band, don't play techno and don't need a full PA. We have day and night slots available and are located one block back from the Esplanade near 8:30 and Mercury.

+ Our 24' dome is closed to the elements, low dust and cool all day!
+ We do NOT have a full PA, just a small 150-watt set-up for CDs/Mp3s.
+ We do have plenty of power from a Honda EU3000 and batteries.

If interested, please send a brief note with a description of your projects, your proposed time, and (if you have it) a link to any MP3s to nick [at] pufendorf.com.

Thanks!

-Nick

It would be crazy to bring my computer to the Playa. though it's insanely tempting, but I have made a gift CD of new elac music built mostly on samples of my own voice with elaborate processing. Plus a toccata for sine wave. If there's time between now and then, there'll also be a CD of accompaniments for my voice live, for which I'll have a mic and a small mixer. Could I play my CD in your dome at some point? If you'd like to hear something, I have mp3s to email anywhere to anybody who asks and can receive files that are 1 or 2 MBs.

My computer crashed, and GoLive needs to be reinstalled before uploading new mp3s to my website. There are, however, some old tracks up there--
