Anybody unicycle on the playa?

How practical would a unicycle be for transport around the playa?

I was in Center Camp when some sort of unicycle rally went by (right while I was talking with the guy who had "The World's Most Fuel Efficient Car"-- namely, it was pedal powered!)

I can't say whether or not unicycles are practical, but people do use them.

I had a guy that asked if he could bounce on my trampolines while on his unicycle...i said sure, dont break anything. He didnt. It was quite entertaining to watch. He was getting a few feet of air on each bounce.

The first unicyclist I met was John at Future camp, which was next to me. He had 3 unicycles with him. The unicycle rally was held Thur 5:30 at the 9:00 circle.... I think there were 29 unicycles... they were all amazing... many of them took their unicycles through the art circle at center camp... hoping up the ramp and riding down...
I rode my electric unicycle across the playa to join them, and rode around about a quarter of the playa with them. I'm new at it so I stay away from soft sand and holes.. sure is fun though.. I believe next year there will be many more regular and electric unicycles..

Saw the unicycle parade, and pestered Justawheel at our camp near 5:15/G. Glad to hear the Solowheel thing worked well.

Thanks for pestering :) I enjoyed answering questions about the wheel... I was on my way to center camp for Java. I rode it up through Saturday, and then decided there were too many big pot holes for an nubie rider like me to negotiate, so I used my "landola" for the remaining day. A number of people said they would email pics of me on the wheel. I will post a few pics when they do... justawheel.com is basic, but up now.. with plans for enhancement soon

There was a circus camp that was giving lessons in how to ride a unicycle, among other things.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Awesome, and with a pedal powered wooly mammoth in the background.

interestingly, the google finds nothing about the "pedal powered wooly mammoth"

Uh... I seem to recall the mammoth folks posting on eplaya. They're in that "Home" video with the song by Edwin Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes.
