If you could choose ONE; what is your favorite 2011 moment?
Mine would probably have to be when me and my girlfriend were riding our bikes at night, trying to go deeper and deeper into the playa by choosing a random light in the distance and figuring out what it is after riding our bikes to it. On our way to our third tiny light to go figure out what it is .... SMASH.... we crashed right into the trash fence following some lights of people camped out past BRC. We didn't injure ourselves at all and couldn't stop laughing. We turned around and found a new light to follow.

I had just woken up and stumbled from my tent to the burn barrel in front of our camp wearing a tank top and pj pants w/ hearts all over them. A few of us were trying to shake the sleep from our eyes, others out there hadn't slept yet. We all had that dazed-over-groggy yuckiness looks on our faces trying to rehydrate.
An iceberg art car rolled up blasting "My baby takes the morning train" and the next thing I know, we're all up and dancing in the street with the art car crew, laughing, smiling, kicking up dust in bare feet and I immediately went from groggy and yucky to energized and happy.
There are like a million others, but that's the one that stuck out in my head today.

Sitting by the Temple on a couch on a vehicle watching amazing skateboarders rolling on SK8 Camp's Ramp. I ask my friend for some chapstick and she picks up the megaphone and says, in a deadpan tone, "Chapstick, Aisle 3". Everyone in hearing distance had a good laugh.

Hair of the Dog: Friday night shenanigans....Doing the Time Warp and meeting amazing people from all over the world. Then that huge firework display we could see from HOTD 5:30 and A after a killer live set of music, then the explosions that followed. Then my favorite bartender coming back from the Tesla Coil demo down the street and going out to the Trojan Horse embers and getting a kiss

Stumbling upon Beats Antique playing on Burn Night and dancing my booty off is one of them, though having my face melted off at the Temple Burn is a close second, or maybe watching the sunrise and sunset from the Pier....
Though dancing with googbox to in front of BRCU to "My Baby Takes the Morning Train" ranks pretty high up there as well

In Center Camp walking along when I hear the sound of children over the live bluegrass music coming from the stage. I look to the center ring and see two blonde haired girls, around 3-4 years old and possibly twins, laughing and giggling. They are both wearing gold dresses, one with a blue coat. As I turned to watch they ran off to the side and grabbed each hand of a man, all the while yelling "Come dance with us!" The man rose and the three of them danced in a circle holding hands. He then picked them both up and danced with them in his arms as they giggled loudly. It was a very cool moment.

I don't know about my most favorite moment (very hard to decide), but my most memorable moment was when we're standing on our MV, and stop for some Persian guys and girls to board. They climb upstairs where we were standing, and one of them whips out a sitar with a cable attached and asks if he could play us some live music through our sound system. We of course oblige, and we were treated to some beautiful singing to sitar music in the middle of the deep playa. Thanks for that Farhid and the rest!

One of my best memories of the 2011 burn: Standing with the girl on Wednesday night out on the high side of the playa.. needing music bad. Corner sound camps = blech. Where is Robot Heart? The girl yells into the dark.. "Come to us Robot Heart!" As if on cue.. we see the heart start moving off in the distance from camp. WHAT!? No way. We stand in one spot watching it wind through through the crowd.. watching the people follow it in the distance. This can't be real. We watch it all the way across the playa.. never moving. RH comes closer and closer.. you can hear the sound. Watching the people follow.. the music getting louder.. the vibe getting stronger. RH finally pulls within 100 feet of exactly where we were standing. Minds = blown. The girl looks at me and says.. "See? It's magic." Commence yet another beautiful playa night under the stars.
Love..

I've re-read that story at least 20 times today, and yet every time I do it manages to choke me up. This was a pretty special year for many different reasons.
You see.. there's this girl..

Out of all the crazy things happening at burning man, it was really the kind of simple interactions with other people that stick in my mind the most. Loved the group of dinosaurs that stampeded towards us and initiated a giant group hug. Loved the cool person I met by them not being able to resist gently petting my animal hat.

Too hard to pick just one. I'd have to say my first ride out to the playa on Monday night made me giddy. I was filled with that "Holy shit, this it IT! This is what I've been planning for, working on, spending for since October of last year and THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!" feeling. My buddy and me just cruizing around the playa aimlessly following whatever art car passed that was impresive looking or playing music we really were into. We didn't have to communicate to stay together or make any plans, just felt like fish in a magical sea, taking it all in and every 20 seconds or so going "Oh wow man look at that! Holy fuck that's cool!" ...

Wow. Very nice magic!
My favorite moment lasted all Friday night and through the dawn Saturday. I went to Disco Knights where they were playing some kick-ass House music and the vibe was perfect. I danced and danced and danced and felt like I was 20 years old again. So many lovely people there were very welcoming, and I got lots of hugs. Somebody told me that the best House music was right here at Disco Knights and at Robot Heart, so around 4:30 or 5:00 I wandered out to the playa and found Robot Heart where I danced the sun up. Again a beautiful vibe. And a lovely girl with green eyes that shone in the dawn sun. I had to tell her how beautiful she looked. A few hours later, on my way back to camp, I saw her again, and we hugged good morning. Now her eyes were blue. Clea, if you're reading this, thanks for sharing my Saturday dawn!

I connected with an AMAZING dude. We agreed to meet at the center of the Temple at 6pm on Friday for a "date."
I showed up at the temple early. I stretched out and started meditating, feeling totally content. I didn't know if he'd make the "date" or not (because time of the playa is hard to follow), but I had a good feeling...
Then he showed up! We cuddled together at the center of the temple for a while, enjoying the spiritual atmosphere.
It was beautiful!
