So I broke up with my best friend Charina about half a year ago. Today I learned that her sister or 38 years passed away. So she had blocked me in FB and I can't even offer her my condolences.

Andy Blue Eyes died this last week..

He was the most powerful cat I have known..All mussel .. He live wit my best friend for 18 years.. He come into our lives hurt so bad, the vet patched him and said to put him in a room by himself for a month and see if he lives.. He did and went up to 28 pounds.. He never struck back if the other cats got after him.. He would gently push them away.. He was not eating or feeling well a few weeks ago.. The vet said canser had set in.. I drove 200 miles to see him.. I said" Andy you know I love you.. It took a lot but he sat to anserwer me.. I gave him pets and good bys.. Andy Blue Eyes died that night..

The day before I flew out I learned my best friend, soul mate and abjectly favorite person of 10+ years shot themselves (yes, dead). Pretty much, I think, ruined it for me this year. Too fucking sad and despondent. Missed the wake, the funeral, all of it. Now I'm back with a big, empty hole in my soul. Waiting for my brain to recognize he's gone, and stop going "oh! I should tell K...oh." and gmail to stop fucking suggesting I send him email. Last year, the week before I left, a fellow left my house, murdered a friend (whose brother had to fly here from SF for the funeral, but was going to go to BM for the first time that year) and then killed himself about a mile down the road.

Another burner I know from around here killed herself a couple of months ago.

Fuck. that. shit.

(((C.f.M.))) that is a lot to take, so sorry for all your loss.

Last year 9/8/10 a dear friend of mine and my sons passed away in an atv accident. He was only 22 years old. His mom and I were assistant little league coaches together for years. He really was a good kid. Coming back from the burn and then having this hit us was really hard and very surreal. Yesterday was the anniversary of his death. Coming to this page really makes it home all over again.

ah shit this is weird. It was only a week (last sunday) that I had been back from the playa a friend died. Then a day after that another person that I know died. These 2 seaths unrelated to each other. Last year a very close friend of ours died 2 days after we got back. I know that this is just a strange coincidence but geez...and our family is just morbid enough to joke "she goes to Burning Man and people die"

I have the same. The first thing after return is to learn someone died...last year it was someone close and it really sucked...

I think I would love your family because I like the joke

I know who's names are on that span, but in my mind...and of those who know, yours belongs there too.

And I would be amiss if I didn't say that I made peace with the late Sen. Jesse Helms. Even though I said I never would. The box of letters, pictures, and more proves you were right.

And meanwhile, there are 6 sets of footprints in the sand, not just two. Still missing a set, but all good things will come in time.

Our House mate Kevin died this morning, of cirrhosis...or some complication from it. He knew he wouldn't see 2012, but made the most of the time he had left.
