When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Re: Want to be Friends on Facebook?
I got a friend request from Russ Feingold, but when I tried to accept it I got the message that he had too many friends. (I didn't know it was even possible to have too many friends...)
Can I just have Burning Man as a friend? That way I wouldn't have to send out a bunch of requests, plus it would be easier to keep track of.

There was a period of a month where I kept getting friend requests from random creepy people, so I locked my account down. I was sick of dealing with it.jkisha wrote:WOW I have never seen anyone with an account that is so locked down that not only can't you friend them, you can't even send them a PM to request they friend you! I will say, you did a great job! I never knew it was possible to lock it that tight.

The one GOOD thing facebook has done is make multiple levels of security. You can fine-tune it to an unbelievable level, lol. I've got my asshole uncle "secured" to where he can only see that we're friends, and maybe my basic info, but can't read any of my wallposts, message me, or see who I'm friends with. It helps me rest a little easier knowing my insane family members can't gather ammo

I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.

Re: Want to be Friends on Facebook?
An Anonymous attack would likely hurt the FB userbase (whose information they would pillage and then work to sell on the black market, as they did with other sites they targeted) and app developers most, as well as Anonymous themselves (such an act would only lead to more arrests and harassment of its members, not less). If anything's going to kill Facebook, it's time. Each of the big social spaces/networks on the internet that came before it has fallen and been replaced by something newer and shinier. C$erve, Prodigy, AOL in the community ISP space, and then Friendster and MySpace in the straight-up social networking space (I'd give a shout-out to Tribe, but they were never a significant competitor).

Re: Want to be Friends on Facebook?
FB account privacy/security tip (from a friend who pays far more attention to it than I do)...
While you can't really delete a Facebook account (you can deactivate it, but they keep the user account data on file), you can make changes to your account info. If you simply blank out all the fields, supposedly they'll keep the old data cached as a backup. But if you change the data fields to something else (fake phone number/address, etc), the site will accept the changes and the old data won't be cached. Then, should you deactivate your account or their site be compromised and somebody get their user data, they won't have accurate info.
