Nice to have some life in here! Thanks, gang. My decom? Not sure yet. Ask me in a week or two. Always takes a bit for me to realize it's done for a year. Had an incredible year... but I say that every year. This was a good burn though, with the possible exception of an 8 hour exodus... yikes. Nice to see so many friends... new and old! *Looks into the darkness*

Think I'll be hanging out in here for a bit. It's got a cozy feel to it.
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Post by Monkeypoo » Sun Sep 11, 2011 8:05 am

Just stopped in for a moment.

Today is my 1 year birthday in recovery -- clean & sober.

Someone once said I was doing it by white-knuckling it. Part of his name has harley in it.
With a smile on my face, my response to you today is Ha-Ha-Ha-Fuck-You. You too, A2Z. :)

Damn. Now I'm gonna have to make amends for that statement someday. Not.

FNA MP, Happy Birthday!!!

(You know the first year is the easiest, er, hardest!)

I've been free of my former DoC for some 27 years now (had to think about it - yikes, THAT fucking long - June 16th - shit it HAS been that long!) but it still resides in the back of my mind... waiting for that minute of "oh what the fuckism" or a good case of "just one hit and I can go all night"... And yeah, some would say I white kknuckled it as well (fuck them), but it was both seeing the wreckage of my life (and remembering it) and yeah, once in a while those damn meetings that kept me clean. Tho I don't agree with some of what they say (never had a drinking problem, it was a dope problem, damnit!) but like they say... keep what you need and se the rest aside!

They should hold it in Berkeley. I get pretty tired of politically correct mincing of words, but this is one time they got it right: Indigenous Peoples' Day! (Of course, they other person is still credited on the damn printed calendars...)

Congrats! Here's some acceptable forms of slipping on playa - Slip and slide, slipping the tongue in, slipping it out, slipping and falling after a rainfall, slipping a note, slipping onto an artcar or into a tent, slipping things in and out of various orifices, slurping, etc. Just don't, you know, slip. That could be, you know, bad.

I so wanna see that......but, Dougly, check your syntax/context.

"we beat the Vikings ........"? is Vikings who you mean, or the now claimants, to "originality"?

Eh?
In a race to these fine shores, the judges declare:
WIN: Former inhabitants of the greater Siberia area.
PLACE: Explorers originating in Iceland and vicinity.
SHOW: Hispanic or Italian explorers.

Geez, I guess semantics are not just for hyphenated Americans anymore. :D

By the way, autumn equinox felicitations!

ah, well, I don't subscribe to that. I don't think the judges have all the info, yet, if ever.

Apparently the molecular evidence supports an earlier crossing of Beringia and entry into South America, then a scouring of inhabitants in N. America by ice, with a re-population from the south.

Of course we don't have "all" the evidence, and barring some total (and very unlikely) churning up and destruction of the continent by a cosmic roto-tiller, we never will. But we have evidence and trying to evaluate what we do have isn't a bad thing, just so long as we don't marry our interpretations.

good points.
especially the "marry our interpretations" part.....so often, we take "what seems right" and spout it as gossple, only to get it sent back, upon further discovery.
