Looking for a Priest/ Monk/ Minister to wed us on the playa.
Hi, My girlfriend and I are new to Burning Man, and 2012 will be our first burn. We are both crazy excited to attend next year, and we think the playa will be a perfect beautiful place to marry eachother. We are looking for a Priest/ Minister/ Monk/ Shaman, to help us out with getting married at Burning Man. It doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman, just as long as you have a awesome sense of humor, and a dirty mouth . If that is you, or if you know anyone that fits the bill please get in touch with us so we can make tenative plans. Thankyou Burners, and much love

There is a burningman volunteer who coordinates this.
Although, I think you should go before deciding to get married there. In some ways it's a poor place for a wedding.

Are you just looking for a ceremony or are you looking to get legally married at Burning Man? I am an ordained minister and did some research in the past in case the occasion presented itself that I might perform a wedding on the playa. In order for a marriage at Burning Man to be official, the officiator must be registered in the county that the wedding takes place in, according to Nevada law. Black Rock Desert is in Washoe, Pershing, and Humboldt counties. I'm not certain which county Burning Man actually takes place in, but I think it is Pershing.

We just want a simple ceremony, a few friends, and whoever burners want to attend. we arent really worried too much about all the legal part. In our eyes and the eyes of the people who matter to us we will be joined in marriage. I just want it to be a happy time for everyone.Smoxalot 420 wrote:Are you just looking for a ceremony or are you looking to get legally married at Burning Man? Although we are new to Burning Man, we are not new to the challenges of wilderness camping, and the principles of leave no trace. We are planning for a 10-11 day stay, I plan on staying a few extra days to do my part to help clean up.theCryptofishist wrote:There is a burningman volunteer who coordinates this.

It's always kind of weird when people who have never even been to TTITD suddenly want to get married there..
Maybe.. dip your toes in first? Just the tip to see how it feels?
