Re: WHEELCHAIR CAMPING AND MOBILITY SERVICE AT 7:00 CENTERCA
I have a powerchair with issues. (It may be no more complicated than a battery change.) Do you want it, or should I find another donee?

Wayne,
Remember that golf cart that Moonrise was driving last year. The one with the hand control for throttle and brake. It is my golf cart and it does not have a home on the playa this year. I would like to loan it to your camp this year for use by anyone in your camp. If you are interested send me a PM and we will work out the details.

I will ask MyLarry if we have room for my beater playa manual chair. I don't need as much as I did in earlier years, but I would like ot only loan it out.

Re: WHEELCHAIR CAMPING AND MOBILITY SERVICE AT 7:00 CENTERCA
Hey There-
I sent you an email. I need your assistance. I broke my ankle, tore my Achilles, and tore medial and lateral ligaments in my ankle. I'm in a cast and on crutches. I am really wanting to be in BRC this burn, as this is my favorite thing in the world. My first time was 1996, and I love it. Do I have any solutions to my predicament? What do I need to do to access the services of Mobility Camp. I don't even know if I can get to center camp from my camp on crutches. Please advise.

Sorry, I meant to send you my phone number before the burn, but simply didn't have time. I take it you don't want it then.

Interesting change before VS after the burn in responses to someone willing to help your project. Wow.
And what does it matter how many posts who makes when before whatever? Just saying...
(Chalking another one up to pre-de-compression dust withdrawls)
By the way, thank you for helping out one of our campers who would have otherwise gone without transpo this year. Had I not had my staph pass this year it woulda been 2... but because of the project she was able to DO the playa this year. Job well done!!!

Powerchair,
Got your message today. My phone died and has not been functioning until today.
It was fun loaning your camp Golficus Carticus. Next year I will try to make it so I don't have to take it back before temple burn to pack it in the truck. I'm planning on loaning it to BRC Mobility next year where it will be reunited with it's spare tire now in your possession.
Good Job with the camp. It makes a huge difference I'm sure.

Yes , we all know what great work you do and service for those who need it.
My point was to not pick a scab when it's really not needed here on the open.....
a PM to fishy would have been better... yes?

Apparently he cannot manage the pm system, but thanks for looking out for me, ibdave.
(and just for the record, I work, I was prepping for the playa, I was working on my shadowboxes, I was working on a reorganization of my studio that only had summer labor, learning to drive with hand controls, and when was too burnt to do that stuff I got on here to relax. I wasn't really up to having someone come over and disrupt my day. How un-utterably selfish of me.)

Plans for expansion of our services will be regulated by the donations received and others coming forth with donations of mobility equipment and or services.
Plans are in the works with the powers that be to make The Man and Temple accessible to our guests and tours on a limited basis in 2012.
This year both the Man and the Temple were not accessible except at ground level.
One incident report as follows:
Incident Report BRC Department of Mobility
Burning Man 2011 "Rites of Passage
Date 09/05/2011 Time 12:30 am
Description of incident:
Dani L. Moore aka "Rat Lady" was on duty at the front desk area doing clean-up and security for mobility equipment, when there was a small fire.
Personal account:
I was cleaning off the BookCrossing and Tattoo Table in front of the Camp under the Left side corner of the shade structure (looking from camp out towards Center Camp Cafe). I was approached by a very intoxicated 20 to 25 year old white male, who was carrying a lit torch. He bent forward to look at the Rubber Stamps available for temporary tattoos. This caused the flaming wax from the torch to pour onto the stamps and the tablecloth setting them on fire.
I shoved the burning stamps off of the table unto the ground and grabbed a book to beat out the flames on the tablecloth. The young man helped stomp out the flaming stamps and apologized saying "I'm really sorry" and stated "That's the last time I make a torch with a road flare and wax!" then he staggered off across the Center Camp Road.
Upon Closer examination it appears the damage was limited to the tablecloth and the rubber stamps, but not the table itself. I folded up the tablecloth and finished clearing the table.
In the morning I spoke to Jim Stephen aka "Rat Patrol" who owned the stamps and the table and he did not request a report be made to any agency outside of the BRC Department of Mobility Camp. I reported to Wayne Merchant of the BRC Department of Mobility camp as well.
I certify that the above statements are correct and true.

Wow, I didnt know we were suppose to toot our own horn on the GIFTS we give our playa family...Funny I dont remember Hot wheels camp doing that?
As the Mayor of the camp that also supported Cryptofish's needs for charging her Chair, bringing her Homestead, transfer Bed and handicapped toilet.
To flame a Handicapped person about a gift that didnt work out THIS year. Bad form.

Once again Pinemom, you speak the words of the Playa....
The resume stuff kills me...
Give them props for good work and they'll show you it again..
never saw/heard a negative word about the work you do..
our point is only to chill out...

Dear dwag...
You don't have to like me. You don't have to take the chair I offered, but harassing my friends isn't going to do you much good here. Do you want me pasting a link to this thread every year when you start a new thread in the theme camp forum? Do you actually think I'm not petty enough to do this? And if it meant that fucking much to you, why didn't you pm me or post in this thread so you'd have known what was going on. (Yes, I could have told you myself, but that doesn't leave you hopelessly waiting for information.) And way to show that by not giving you my phone number and home address I dodged a bullet.
Mods, how far does a thread have to go before it gets locked, quarantined or yanked?

Re: WHEELCHAIR CAMPING AND MOBILITY SERVICE AT 7:00 CENTERCA
I guess you guys don't know that publishing stats after an event is just standard operating procedure. It lets your members know how much you did and the breakdown helps everyone plan for next year. It can also help people that might want to use the services or join the camp next year. Certainly not meant as a "whoo-Hoo look at us" moment.
Camp members can get really stressed after all the time, expense, hard work and drama involved in running a camp.
I guess if you want people to cut you some slack when you are busy and stressed out, you should do the same.
Baiting someone to watch them blow up and then cry "poor me" when they do is just too easy.
Let's all just play nice.
