You know, poetry makes me SWOON!!!

And be most cautious... it is well rumored that slamming anything into my, er, "chest" is known not only to initiate a perhaps unanticipated (tho likely expected) recoil sequence but also arming of ordinarily flush-mounted activation triggers, which, when tweaked, could predicate a launch some would say akin to the rumble of a division of T-38s... and shreieks reminiscent of F-18s in full afterburn...

Pardon me, I have to go to the kitchen - the dinger went off, need to remove the parts that are bluing from the stove... back in a while...

Hot tank bluing makes me flush. It takes a skilled lover to prep, polish, and card properly.
Sure miss them 1 gallon cans of 1,1,1 trichlor from Brownell's. Who knew $12 could buy so much fun.
The buzz provided by the fumes always did me good.
The sweet lingering taste on the back of the tounge cannot be duplicated by perchloroethylene.
Case hardening in bone char is an aphrodisiac in my book.
Molten sodium cyanide salt hardening is like risky sex in a public location.

I need a good quenching...

Before offering to them to my customers I tried them all.
I ended up never offering any of them to my customers.
They had guns.
Customer satisfaction was paramount in that business...

The crank type devices are far more interesting when using a flex-shaft connected to a cordless drill.
Not that I've ever tried it.
That would be against the law.

I had the same opinion until we got one right.

My friend says some aren't worth spitting on though.

I saw one recently for a 1919 which bolts into the system and is all steel.
Very sweet and fairly expensive, but apparently excellent.

When you think about it, you are modifying the lockworks, however temporarily, and most cams are universal types, so touchiness until you have it perfect is natural.

The kalashnikov has a long and particular trigger throw, so it may be amazing that any general types work at all.
We have used a BNF.
All plastic hardware was replaced with steel and in some cases cranks have been modified for clearance.
After extensive adjustment, detents were ground to lock the set screws in the appropriate location.

Absolutely perfect for what it is, the last time I tried it.
Fires too quickly to count shots.

Totally useless for self defense, of course.
It does seem to scare the hell out of the local gangsters.
Sounds nothing like full auto though.
Nowhere close to the speed, of course.

There are some new types with seemingly better clamping systems that look promising.
I want one after using one that works.

As a bit of trivia, there is info that the Waco investigation started due to false reports of automatic weapons fire.
It was quickly discovered that it was crank fire and legal.
There is even a response from the atf verifying that the devices are completely legal and allowed.
The investigation continued anyway and permanent listening posts were set up to listen for weapons use.

Thanks for posting that, JK... brings back a lot of memories. I remember 2 very different sides of the argument the panthers were prosecuting (before the opportunists used their fight to paint gun posession in an evil light)... One was the black community who, perhaps for the first time, felt them empowered as full citizens with the full rihts they were guaranteed and denied for so many generations, and the white community, who were petrified that "those people" were allowed to have firearms. Very prevalent, very sad chapter.

To this day... the whole thing about Gun control has been proven to stem back to the repression of those Americans of African Descent... those affected were not, usually, the white majority at the time, but the black minority, and those who supported them (eg the "liberals"). It was so pervasive, and such a coordinated campaign, that even to this day, these self-same liberals will quite, chapter and verse, all the reasons that they were fed (brainwashed) into believing by those who felt they should not own guns, and as they were brainwashed into the evil-ness of firearms (ug) that they must carry this message forth and demand it of the masses.

Of course... those in power who wish to hold that power certainly do NOT want a radicalized populace, who may be disenchanted with their power, to have the power to remove them, violently if need be. Those who stand to demand that people follow their way and their way only are, or have been, generally the ones who also demonize firearms and those who posess them. God forbid, in an urban environment, you actually *have* a firearm - you must be one of those "evil criminally-intended nutcases" that you see on TV and end up killing schoolfulls of children, hang out on rooftops sniping at grandmothers and pregnant women, and plan WMD attacks on those in their own neighborhood (or currently, "Islamoterrorists", whatever the hell that's supposed to be - you never hear "Catholoterroists" or "Bhudda-Bombers" but I've even heard someone decrying that "Mohammedeans" should have no rights, and be shunned in a disaster scenario, or worse, forcibly discarnated, by someone claiming to be a righteous Born-Again Christian. WWJD? GMAB!)

Yeah, I remember Newton's and Seale's exploits in oakland... and always thought the actions taken to "disarm" the populace excercising their rights was less a thing of terrorist opportunists and something more like missions planned by the likes of Hoover's ilk and his counterparts int he CIA to force the sheeple to bow to the will of those who feared a liberal, or a radical, with a firearm. Funny how a lot of the shooters... seemed to have ties to the Company et al...

Kind of like Bin Laden, or Khadafi. So, how are the gov't sheepdogs going use these little incident-generators to force their flock to follow their will today?

Have a happy day.

BBS Glad you liked reading it. I found it interesting as well. They use the blacks for everything! They did the same thing with drug laws...to keep those blacks in line. :(

HEY! We never made it up to SF. Did all our planning via phone conferences. BUT, since you're not going to Russia, I'm excited we'll have a chance to meet on the playa! M&G for sure, and you're always welcome at our camp.

Did make it to Russia, just earlier!! Will be at Apokiliptika this year... still working out just *what* I'm doing, will probably be a combination of the was-to-be Hookah Doom (I will have a hookah there, BTW!), a mini socialist club/unKantina, and perhaps something Doom-Dome-ish. Space is at a premium this year, so that's the fnal arbiter......

Regardless, I will be there. Just got the lights and un-knobby tires and goo-tubes for the bike ordered (here Friday), starting the upload to the truck tonight. ;) Still can't believe I'm going...

Re drug laws - +1. Really sucks for those who use prescribed cannabis. Even now, when they have case studies proving the effectiveness of it as a medication for certain ailments, it's still percieved as a "minority drug" and therefore MUST be prohibited. (Notice how the percieved users of Cannabis are either Minorities or Liberals? Um Hmmm....)

That's a very interesting article JK. Although conservatives did, in fact and truth, support laws and actions restricting minority ownership of firearms, liberals have been complicit and continue to be to this day. I don't understand how mayors of major cities can garner votes from those that they prevent from protecting themselves.
Currently we see the conservatives waging an economic war upon these same arguably helpless classes.
Perhaps a day will come when politicians stop telling us what we can't do and start fighting for laws that simply allow us all to DO.
Thanks for posting the article JK!

Follow the well orchestrated nationwide campaign to disenfranchise voters state by state, by various means.

If you don't have the right to vote you're ny represented.

A surprize in an ak package.
We need more thinking inside the box.

Nothing settled yet, but the 6.5 looks best so far, without building from scratch.

Open to suggestions though.

To get a really good coefficient, you need the 50 calibre.

Amazing specs on some in that size.
