I Love a Parade, calling all musicians

Post by chuckwalla » Sun Jul 18, 2004 12:33 pm

I am a first timer and I was kicking around an idea of organizing a parade
of musicans.
Idea one: Guitar Parade,I think a large group of players doing one or two simple song together in unison would sound great. I will be bringing an electric with a battery powered pignose amp that can be strapped over a shoulder.

Idea two: All musicians, any instrument doing one or two simple songs while parading together.

What do you think of this idea? Is it feesable? Anybody interested? Is there already something like this?

a playaful of parades

I suspect you can form one on the playa whenever you want. Just strap on your guitar and grab the nearest drummer. People fill fall in line right behind you (one of them may be me).

I’m definitely in for idea #two. I have a dj/dear friend, complete with a portable sampler (Panasonic Handsonic) to provide the beats. I am a bass player looking for a pignose type amp so I can join in. I also am planning on bringing easter egg shakers to give out (plastic easter eggs filled with pebbles or rice). So, count me in.

Also I have been planning a full trailer/stage to have behind my mutant space ship, complete with pa and full band with dj. I have the MV application turned in. Band and dj are coming, stage is yet to come together. I need a trailer. I am in LA. I’d love help if anyone can. This would be a regular car trailer that I’d build a stage on top of, complete with PA and lights. Naturally, you’re all invited to play once it gets there. Let me know if anyone can help out with the trailer or even the space to work on it in LA.

I am definitely in for the parade, which will certainly be great fun, with great potential to expand, here and certainly on the playa once we plug in (go first timer!).

Woo, Parade!

I'm down, and have a trombone.
Come find me -- I'm camping in pancake annex.

I love a parade too, I play harmonica and also have a Pigsnose Amp. The guitar idea is nice but too restrictive, anyone that has a protable instrument should be able to contribute to the parade. Oh yeah, It will be what it will be, don't try to make us play a song.
So where / when shall we meet and get this thing going?
