Stand By Your Words (Post Editing)
Somewhere over the course of the last few site upgrades, the site went from restricting you from editing your posts after a certain point to allowing unlimited editing. That's been fixed, and is no longer allowed. You can now edit your posts for up to 30 minutes after posting, which should give you plenty of time to correct a typo or add in that last bit you forgot to say before you hit the button.

Thank you, and, as has been said, thank you, Trilo, for all you're doing.trilobyte wrote:Somewhere over the course of the last few site upgrades, the site went from restricting you from editing your posts after a certain point to allowing unlimited editing. there is this one photography forum i used to be a big part of...
filled with tons of knowledge and stuff to refer back to..
well there was some STUPID drama unrelated to photography or anything of the sort and a few skilled practitioners ditched, and they manually went through and took out thousands of their posts.
this resulted in many of the most important knowledge base of information in some threads of torn away and made a section of the history of that forum useless....... questioned had to be re-asked, and probably weren't as good the 2nd time..
this type of policy is good, more so because you can avoid stupid drama shit like that devaluing the collective effort of the community..
oh, it can also do what you say 'stand by yer words' drama shit as well..

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
