/thread drift-
Hey Figjam, just wanted say hey, do you know who you're honkin' at?
Sometime midweek I was on top of my camps artcar (The Black Rock Guardian) and we crossed paths somewhere between the temple and the city. You gave a toot on your trike horn, but we were quite a distance from each other before I realized, "Hey, that was FigJam!"
So, belated wave/honk back at ya! :D
What other people think about you is none of your business.

Actually a definite starting and ending time is a good thing. 6pm to 8 or maybe 9PM is good. Then the clean-up crew knows it's time to get to work and it also signals everyone that the event is over without looking rude, as the ending time has been announced in advance.

In the case of BDC, the Wine Bistro could then be opened back up to the public and the linger oners from the M&G could stay until the wine bistro officially closed. I have no clue what their normal hours of public operation are.

I had a dream last night that I was on the Eplaya MnG yearbook committee. I guess I was the only one on the committee. I took everyone's photo, a brief bio, and a retinal scan (It was a dream...), and made yearbook pages in MS Word or something in my trailer. I got email addresses (and glowing green chips???) from everyone who was photographed so they would get a copy of the book. I would send it to them as a PDF or I printed and bound them on the playa. Some people who didn't want to be photographed tried getting copies but Yiggy & Figgy convinced them it was a bad idea. Larry tried buying a copy from an Eplayan and something crazy happened to him, I wish I could remember. Then a soft serve ice cream machine showed up in my trailer and I drove all over the playa sharing the yummy goodness. Delle was serving cones from a tray while wearing a tiny kitchen apron and Savannah was managing the crowd with a bullwhip and a helmet that had four megaphones on it. Suddenly we were in downtown San Francisco in the rain and nobody wanted ice cream...

I like the idea of some kind of yearbook. I really, really do! I initially thought the dream inspired 'get photographed, get a yearbook' policy was great but then thought about the Eplayans that can't make it to the burn. But then I reconsidered. I think it'd be a fair way to go. I know some folks wouldn't want to have their photo or identity seen by just anyone. I think the policy would lend a certain intimacy to the book and its participants and give it a personalized feel. The printing & binding on the playa is a total non-starter but emailing PDF's would be very doable.

Anyhow, it was a really cool dream.
