Each August, more than a hundred Chicagoans voyage 2,000 miles to Black Rock City, where they are greeted with the words “Welcome Home.” Yet in September they voyage 2,000 more miles back to their permanent homes in Chicago and the family, friends, or lovers unable to travel those 4,000 miles

“Chicago Decompression 2011: The Voyage Home” seeks to resolve this paradox by integrating these two homes for thirteen hours as the soul of Black Rock City is transported into the heart of Chicago. It’s a reunion for those who went to Black Rock City, but also a chance to share the magic with those who did not.

Last year's epic Decompression re-defined the concept of an urban decomp for approximately 800 Burners from Chicago-land and around the Midwest. This year's Decompression promises to be bigger, better, and even awesomer.
