Looked it over today -- changed oil and filter, cranked it and verified spark. But no fuel. Defective fuel pump. I freed it up, but the cracks in the diaphragm may be fatal. It seems to need to generate a certain minimum amount of suction in order to overcome the inlet check valve. And the check valve is winning, so far.
I am noticing that people are having trouble selling these things for even $500,-, in good condition. No parts available for the fuel pump; complete pump is $114,-. I might go with an electric one.
Space no problem: me have Barn.

hahaa, not sure yet about the stoves........
see, the thing is...........well........sometimes, it's just too good to pass up, even if you don't have a use for it. and, I have room to store stuff.
the top one is an "ore cart" from the underground mines here.

Re: Show me your Junk.
no, gas. I think one has a wood burning side, though, so I suppose it'd be "dual fuel"........Elorrum wrote:very nice. are those wood stoves?

Re: Show me your Junk.
I had a roommate who collected antique stoves - specifically Spark dual fuels. We had one in the kitchen (6 burner double oven with a bread warmer *and* smoker chamber) - no pilot of course - and a huge 8 burner massive oven double in the garage for canning... and about 4 or 5 in various states of repair (even a rare dual+electric one - in pale beige - that was amazing).
You REALLY don't know what to do with them? I know what I'd do... esp up in the hills... heat + cooking? You got all the parts? Some will be easy, some you need someone who can sand-cast iron to replace parts or find a donor stove... You're right, it looks like both may be duallies, and both appear to be Artcrafts, which is good for parts finding...

I think the white one is Wedgewood.Bay Bridge Sue wrote:I had a roommate who collected antique stoves - specifically Spark dual fuels. in my house now, I have a 4 burner, griddle in the middle, oven one side, broiler the other, Wedgewood from the early 50's.......and a donor for it, that I found in the sage brush, about 60 miles north east of the playa.
yeah the white one is complete, I think the Artcraft is about 90% and the stuff may be in the box.
I found a commercial stove, which I will one day install at the Hof (in it's own "cook shed" due to size), 6 burners, two warming plates a 40" griddle and two 32" ovens..........I could cook for the whole eplaya, if you'd all come up and play there..........

Indeed not. Sounds like that could have been the stove from Paul Bunyan's cookshack.Bay Bridge Sue wrote:You would not have to ask twice, comrade!ygmir wrote: ...I found a commercial stove, which I will one day install at the Hof (in it's own "cook shed" due to size), 6 burners, two warming plates a 40" griddle and two 32" ovens..........I could cook for the whole eplaya, if you'd all come up and play there..........

Re: Show me your Junk.
hahaa, so, I see a plan:
for next summer, when I get the doors and shutters on the Hof, and get the "cook shack" made, we'll have an Eplaya "compression"?

Re: Show me your Junk.
Use the wheels and base of the ore cart, mount the cook shack on top, a suitable power source to the wheels, and you have next years MV...

I want to gut out my kitchen and rebuild it just to put one of those bad boys in there. The old spark we had could boil a teapot in about 2 minutes. SERIOUS heat output - like a commercial stove unit. Just remember to shut off the gas - no pilot light!

Re: Show me your Junk.
I have a Box Wood wood stove to heat the shop.. Converted it so it burn fuel like a Rocket stove.. Gets more bang for the buck.. Heat up two buckets of large grave and water.. Then let the fire die out.. That way I don't have to watch the fire/sparks. The hot stones and water keep it warm for a while.. Learned that from my Granny Ma..
