Spam reporting notifications
It appears that the forum is now actually sending notifications of reported messages and threads. Can that option be disabled or at least default to "do not notify"?

Re: Spam reporting notifications
First, thanks for your flagging the spam. It makes it so much easier to find and swat. Of course there is the option on the reporting page to select (NO) to be notified when spam is dealt with. I can see about changing the default to be NO all the time. I'm not sure why someone would want to be notified when something is deleted.
Also, flagging of abusive posts is extremely helpful and posts that may be obviously in the wrong category is good too!

Re: Spam reporting notifications
I don't think that's a change in behavior.
If you flag (report) a message, the system will notify you if a moderator has closed or deleted the report.
However, if a flagged post is something from a spambot, the moderator responding will usually just delete the post. That gets rid of the flag, and bypasses sending out a notification.
In the case of the post/flag/notification in question, I didn't just delete the post. I closed the report (which triggered the automated notification you received), and then moved the thread to an internal 'quarantine zone' that we occasionally use.

Re: Spam reporting notifications
That seems to explain it. Thanks for the heads up and, of course, the moderating!

Re: Spam reporting notifications
Still seems a good idea to change the notify option to default off.

Then just report it using the icon. It will get handled. No need to repost.

The small, upside down triangle with an exclamation mark in it. That's the post/thread reporting icon.
