2011 MOOP Map Live

No map update today, but still a great post. Today's Moop Map Live blog entry has some great info on the top MOOP and how to deal with it. Thanks to The Hun and the whole playa restoration team.

Don't like seeing Red (or Black!), but isn't this the first year those end camps got large use the playa space next to their camp?
Their camps appear to be largely Green, which can only happen if they've organized a MOOP Plan and made the effort to get their camp Green. Congrats.

So missing the on-playa space appears to be an oversight on a camp's MOOP planning, with the new on-playa space appearing to be largely (if not completely) overlooked, likely as we're all used to being responsible for "our camp" and the on-playa space wasn't on the radar. With this year's results known, I'm sure the camps that did a largely good (Green) job to their camp space will be adding the on-playa space to their camp's MOOP Plan for 2012 onwards.

For those that didn't MOOP their camp adequately, I'd hope that DPW can determine if it was the original camp versus something someone else "donated", before making a recommendation on placement or acceptance of a camp in following years.
Like the metal drum full of feces left behind in 2010 (according to a Ranger while on cleanup on the Tuesday).

No map update today, but still a great blog post. It mentions that they'll be publishing a list of the art sites with scores at some point, that will be interesting to see.

Day 6 super high rez moop map overlay. Big as ever. Zooooooom in for details.
In case you were wondering why the older maps I put up disappeared, it's because I've been deleting the old ones as I update them. When the final map is released I'll also create a new thread with the high rez map in it.

What I don't understand is if this map was from over a week ago, why they don't just jump to the final version. By now they must have finished. I mean the inspection is on the 6th!

they might want to build up the eyeballs on their blog ...spilling the beans isnt the most effective way to get the word out..

The inspection isn't on the 6th, the 6th is the date when they'll reveal the results of the inspection. The Hun makes it look easy because her posts read so well, but she puts quite a bit of time into them (and that's on top of working all day on playa restoration), and it takes a few days to collate all the data and get everything together (it's a big site).

Oooh, I'm feeling a bit bad. Thought I cleaned good but our 4:30 - A area is YELLOW
with a small red spot 100ft from where I was.

More MOOP Map goodness!

Woohoo, we got green at our camp!

Today's big chunks of red appear to belong to FractalNationVillage (at 2:00) and Distrikt (at 9:00), though I have no idea what's up with that whole block of yellow with the red streak.

Oh, and to clarify, the BLM inspection takes several days (they check the place pretty thoroughly). BMOrg gets the results on Thursday, which will then be shared with us same-day (though the line sweep reports are delayed by several days).

If Simon were here, he'd point out that the llc is deliberately seeding the ground with tasty drugs so that the dpw will be quiet about the high level of MOOP in gratitude...

they found 322 plastic nicklebags (empty) at first camp alone.

center camp was a disaster area and had to be sprayed down with liquid acid.
