And 420, I had your shot glass in my pocket of my shorts the whole time I was in the hospital!
I saw it one night, kinda glinting and sparkling out from the pocket while they hung. I reached for it and had total
flashbacks of the Burn,(what little I saw)

I barely remember the M&G, I apologize if I was a turd.

I'd shown two faculty here @ work the Honey Badger youtube a month ago, & ever since then they have been ringing me up as "Cobra, this is Badger", and forgiving a little mistake I'd made with "Honey Badger don't care!" and calling each OTHER Badger (their original names forgotten) and delighting in my Burn tales of curiousgnate and his Badger pelt, and bothering me for pictures of my [still non-existent] cobra costume (I wish I'd had one done in time for the Burn, Nate).

Well, they just walked into my office with a Honey Badger Don't Care! t-shirt for me.

This makes my whole day.

Aww, you are so sweet! That sounds great. Thank you :D

And you dirty people!
I won't even mention sitting around the fire the other night and asking my ladyfriend if she wanted to pull off my cigar. Just not gonna do it...

My son posted this in FB and I really wanted to share it here!

Interesting to think about,
"We need to teach our daughters the difference between a man who flatters her, and a man who compliments her .... a man who spends money on her, and a man who invests in her .... a man who views her as property, and a man who views her properly ..... a man who lusts after her, and a man who loves her ..... a man who believes he is God's gift to women, and a man who remembers a woman was God's gift to man. "
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Went to my first (two) Burner events this weekend and they really ran the gamut of what BM is about. First, a stop at DC's Warehouse with a wide array of costumed and non-costumed figures dancin' the night away. Saw (and watched in awe) as a few folks spun fire and it was awesome running into so many friendly faces so quickly.

Unfortunately I have the alcohol tolerance of a 3 year old so after 1.5 glasses of libation, I was praying to the porcelain gods like it was my JOB. I met waxpraxis but missed jax because I *had* to get out of there. Next time, jax!! Next time!

Yesterday was the town hall meeting for DC burners to get together & plan/hash-out big art projects for local burns and BRC. This.Was.So.Freaking.Awesome. I SUCK at interaction in a group of people that don't know me and vice versa. I want to get involved, so I thought going would give me an idea of who's doing what in DC. But as usual, my panic began to set in before the event and I almost bailed. I've got some wicked social anxiety.

I am SO GLAD I made myself go. There were a bunch of veteran burners and a smattering of younger folks, all were INCREDIBLY welcoming. I never once felt like the ass-heel I tend to feel like in public settings and I am tickled pink that I went. Every individual was so different but was there for the same reason(s) and no one was doing it for profit or an agenda other than get some art out there. It was refreshing, to say the least.

The home at which the event was held was laden with TONS of stuff from previous burns, most notably an amaaaazing hat collection. I think part of the reason I didn't feel so out of place, being a newb and all, was that Dustin requested I wear one of his hats. Well...encouraged. And while I stuck out the most with my bright clothes & red devo hat....it somehow made me feel more INvolved and less like a newb. It was a very small gesture and I doubt he knows how much it helped me but man was it awesome. It was just awesome.

Can't wait to get my hands dirty!!!

Yay for crazy Misa! You go girl!

I just cleared out the last of my playa shit from my living room and set up my sewing table etc. I'm so excited about Halloween! It's my favorite time of year. For weeks I've been grousing about not having any brilliant ideas, that I'd have to recycle an old costume, put together something last minute or just wear my poop patrol garb. Yesterday the epiphany struck - a Wagnerian Valkyrie. Now I'm all a twitter about making the dress. Sewing makes me happy.

Yay Bunny! Those hicks at the backwoods store / campground made me uncomfortable. The one with the missing eyetooth was kind of funny in a crackhead deliverance kind of way.

I had an awesome time at the Portland Decompression event last weekend. I cooked spam on a red-hot smudge pot and shared it around. The only people who ate the Spam were the ladies. Mish said it's because it's made of dick. I didn't know that...
They wouldn't let my trailer in at the gate so I camped in it on the street and it was fun.
Met some friends of hers. They're pretty involved with the local burner org. They ran up and literally grabbed me. Hauled me into a bus and fed me mushrooms, fajitas, and whisky. It was a veeery interesting night... It was totally out of character but awfully fun.
The fire show was top notch!
Lots of sparkleponies, lots. There wasn't as much bacon as I thought there'd be. I'll have to address that issue next year.
