At the risk of sounding horrifically uninformed...which I absofuckinglutely am...what exactly is the Meet and Greet?
2012 will be my 1st Burn.

No problem. The only stupid question is the one you do not ask.
The Meet & Greet is a two- or three hour get-together-in-person for us who participate on Eplaya.

Re: So what are you doing for the Meet & Greet in 2012?
The Meet & Greet: People from this particular message board getting together to meet each other for the first (or tenth) time at the Burn. Usually on a Thursday eve. Bringing ice, liquor or a dish to share is polite, but not required. Those who stay away strictly because they have no contribution are, in fact, gently mocked for thinking we need their ice or food so badly that we do not want to see them unless they pony up.
Keep watching these threads, be a stellar virgin, read everything and learn, and you will be like this last year's eagerly anticipated virgins . . . they know who they are. Or, were. Now, they're deflowered and I don't know what to call them.

I'm a fan of the term Experienced Rookie for second and/or third year folks.Savannah wrote: Now, they're deflowered and I don't know what to call them.
At least thats what we called out selves. We now figure we're 'experienced burners', but still a long way from Veteran.

My friend and I reflected on this the last day.. "We're Burners now...." It's a life merit badge I'm more than proud to have earned. I love you all, fellow burners, it was wonderful to meet those of you I had the honor of sharing the MnG with.illy dilly wrote:I'm a fan of the term Experienced Rookie for second and/or third year folks.Savannah wrote: Now, they're deflowered and I don't know what to call them.

I'm not a veteran, no longer a virgin.... I'm a Burner. I'm happy with that!

We just felt leaving 2009 that we hadn't really experienced much of the fabled horrible Play conditions. 2010 we actually got to really experience a dust storm. And 2011 was down right delightful.
But I'm with ya, Once a burner, always a burner!

But stores like Smart N Final sell disposable warming trays and canned sterno that would seem to be easier than crock pots...not to mention electrical heating/cooking takes lots of juice.

We can manage the above with a little pre-planning. We have a chilli cook off earlier in the week for our camp and we seem to be able to manage that just fine.
I know Walmart sells the warming buffet-type warmers. I used them last Thanksgiving and they worked wonderfully! I just had to add warm water to the pans. Ten they heat up pretty quickly.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Barbitinis.
Super Secret Recipe, but I will say, the Drink (invented by me back in my Bartending Days) was formally called the Sex in the Apartment. Every time I served it at a Party in an Apartment...
